Book has inspired me to change , I am also listening to Mel’s podcast . She speaks in such a relatable manner that you feel you are chatting to your best friend

5SecondRule to treat myself kindly
I dont know about the author (Mel Robbins) but she was featured in a Success Newsletter with a video where she spoke about the book. My reaction? Really? 5SecondRule? Amazon US has mixed review but I was curious. So I purchased the book, yet to finish reading it.It didn't have an immediate effect on me (passed the Wake Up Challenge but failed on 1st assignment - 24 hours without complaining) . Why 5 stars? Its explanation on why we dont do the things we should do is very insightful for me. My issue is that I can do things at work / stuff for others, but fail miserably on my own personal projects and goals. Then i would beat myself up for my failures. What this book has to taught me so far is to treat myself kindly i.e have that awareness ('gotcha' moments), 5-4-3-2-1, smile :o) then do a little (better than wasting my time surfing the internet). I will keep on using this tool. The 31-mentoring-session is a very good accompaniment to the book. These are 4-5 minute videos with interesting assignments :o)

Great concept but the writing style is terrible
I really liked learning the rule, but there were too many social media posts. It was a struggle motivating myself to finish the book. Would have preferred if there were less posts and testimonials. Overall an interesting read.
