Not like it used to be...
I'm kind of disappointed in this bag. I have gotten petite hook bill in the past and what I remember were basically whole seeds and chopped seeds / veggies / fruits. This time it looks like they took everything except maybe the millet and some other tiny seeds and stuck it through a blender. There's a lot of powdery stuff - for lack of better word - mixed in with this batch. I don't know if it was the bottom of the barrel and they filled up my bag with that or if they've just started to pretty much stick the regular size hook bill legume blend into a blender so that smaller birds can eat it, I don't know. It also smells a lot different. I don't know what happened, but my bird doesn't seem to like this very much, whereas before he really tore into the petite hookbill legume blend. I remember there being some exotic seeds in the mix as well as whole pumpkin seeds and whole smaller types of seeds / grains / legumes. Except for the millet, I can't tell what's in this mix. And the powdery part of the mix has me really worried. Although it looks like it has a variety of ingredients, and it looks like it should be healthy, the off-smell, the fact that everything is chopped tiny that you can't tell what it is, and the fact that my bird now turns up his beak to it, points to something's wrong with this bag of seed. You can see the difference in the pictures, the one with the corn and whole seeds was from the internet, and is the way the blend was for me in the past. The picture with the small pulverized pile is the one I just took.
