Overpriced and not as sturdy as cheaper brands
What I like about it... the little container where the grounds come out is convenient. It's also easy to take apart and clean. What is wrong with it... the power goes into standby after a while, which is great, but getting it to come back on you have to hold your finger over the led light button which does not always detect you, and could take a while to get it to come back on, sometimes I have to touch it for a while and if it doesn't turn on I remove my finger and try again. That gets a little annoying. The other thing that is wrong that I never had an issue with on my old grinder, is that the beans get stuck as they are going into the grinding section (which is way too small imo) and I have to 'shake' the grinder to get them to keep going into the feed. This happens at least 3 times during an 8cup grind. And last but not least, even though the little container fits perfectly over the output, it still leaves grinds all over the bottom that I need to clean up every time. All in all, not a great machine for the price. I would set this at maybe a $40 machine just because of the nice lighted buttons.. and that's about it. You should look elsewhere, someone like Hamilton Beach isn't bad or Cuisinart is a little less and works much better.

Gevi Burr Coffee Grinder stopped working after 4 Months of minimal use.
Updated Review. 10/10/2022 I have updated my review to 3 stars. Bottomline: I am able to salvage some functionality of the machine, Yesterday thought it was throw away, today it may work, so upgrading to 2 stars instead of 1. However if you are hoping to have just normal maintenance on your Grinder, this one will require additional clean out below the grinder and is not designed to support this activity. The cause of the failure of our grinder is now very likely determined to be "build up" of fine ground coffee.below the grinder. To get the right pressure for extraction we typically process coffee at setting "7" from 0 finest to 35 coursest. What appears to happen is that after the finely ground coffee passes through the grinder, it accumulates in a "2 inch long angled tube" that is supposed to transfer the ground coffee from the "center" below the grinder to the center above the "removable container". The coffee moves through the tube with gravity and vibration in normal operation. We found that finely ground coffee remains in this tube after normal use and humidity, and infrequent use allows a clog to form in this area. Since coffee can't exit the grinder it backs up and affects the motor and burr grinder, causing it to seize up. The cleaning instructions should warn, that in certain condition, there is a need to clean the tube below the grinder, after every use, to prevent the build up of a clog. (particularly with fine grind setting).Original Review. One Star. We bought this coffee grinder on June 27 2022 and by October 9 2022 it has failed. We are just two people using the grinder like once a week. I estimate this grinder lasted something like less than a total of 60 minutes of grinder use. (12 weeks X 5 minutes a week). It worked great up until the morning (today) that the motor just wound down lower and lower and stopped working. Grinding wheels seize up and electric motor makes terrible noise. Tried cleaning and blowing out suspected debris with reversed vacuum attachment. Unable to repair. We have had grinders that lasted years. This one barely made it 90 days. They got our money on this one.

Really messy with a portafilter, really bad interface
My primary complaint: it comes with a portafilter adapter, but with our portafilter all the way in, dumps grounds down the back. Does not really seem to be a way to fix this. Probably going to try to 3D print our own fix, but as sold, it's super messy and wasteful. In addition: it loses settings if unplugged. To lower grind time from the default of 25 seconds, you have to hold the time button while it counts *up* until it wraps around. And you will need to do this every time it's plugged in.Requires touching and holding for 2-3 seconds to "unlock", then tap to start. Really could have just used another button or a switch for power; the multiplexing on a single button is not a good design. The manual is, predictably, hard to parse and disorganized. It doesn't seem like it was reviewed by a person fluent in English. There is no "assemble the unit for the first time" section that I saw, so best of luck to you if you haven't put together a conical burr grinder before. Otherwise it has the fairly typical counter-clockwise nut that you will need to make sure is tightened with a small wrench. Finger tightened it will loosen over time. The grinder is loud, which is not really unexpected for a grinder, but some folks have mentioned it in their reviews and they are correct.Overall, this is a fine backup grinder if your normal one dies. It's not a good daily grinder, and if that is your intention, keep your expectations reasonable. I expect to throw this in a cabinet in a couple weeks and hopefully never turn it on again.

You shouldn't have to remove the bean cup everytime you grind coffee!
It grinds coffee well enough, but it forces you to remove the bean cup to grind coffee EVERY SINGLE TIME. It is extremely annoying to have to remove the bean cup just to grind another batch of coffee. If it needs to be cleaned after grinding only 8 cups - then it is WRONG.It also recommends that you use the time rather than the cup measurement which makes no sense to me.I have to stand there with the grinder while it is grinding to shake it because it frequently ends up with no beans feeding to the grinder.Over all, it does the job in an extremely annoying manner.

Proper grind
Have not been able to use the grinder but it appears to live up to manufacturer description. Previous grinder was not as good . The improved model which was available has the bracket for the portafilter. Thank you.

Great grinder needs on/off switch
Love the quality and the variety of grinding options. The only disappointing feature is that it does not have an independent power button so you have to unplug the unit in between grinding sessions. The “power” button on the unit is solely for starting or stopping the grinding and the unit will automatically power down after so much time has lapsed but you have to unplug and plug back in to use again.
