Great hood great sweater
It's currently 39 degrees f right now and it feels like 30 with the windchill. I'm only wearing a t-shirt and this sweater and I can say I'm comfortable. Not cold at all. This feels like a sweater but its as warm as a jacket. The hood is big enough to hang past my baseball cap. All in all, its very good quality. What I personally did was get this tech double thick sweater and combined it with an outback trading company duster jacket. Those two together make a very nice weather resistant combo. I see it becoming my favorite fall/winter/early spring outwear for the next couple years.

Very well made HEAVY duty double thickness (somewhat water resistant) sweatshirt/jacket
This as well as the all cotton double thick full zip hooded sweatshirt were Christmas 2017 purchases. My husband was thrilled to finally have good, well made, substantial sweatshirt/jackets. This one was ordered in black by mistake as I thought I was ordering the all cotton one in black after ordering and receiving it in Navy. My husband did really like and decided to keep. The fabric will work better if out in wet weather. These really are HEAVY and well made sweatshirts. Only disappointment was that they are NOT make in the USA as I called the company first to ask. Would personally support our own Country and buy things from here but unfortunately a good heavy duty double thick sweatshirt was not to be found in brick and mortar stores or online. Fit is good, perhaps a little big but washing and drying sizes down a little. End result, very happy with this. Hood is oversized as mentioned in other reviews, due to ability to cover hardhat for arborist workers, but that does not create a problem, actually is a good wind blocker in nasty windy weather which Ohio is having already in 2018. (Size Large)

Not as heavy as the cotton version, but still the thickest fleece jacket currently on the market
It took me a while, but my opinion on this jacket has changed in a very positive way since last year since I've learned more about fleeces. This sweatshirt is NOT 13 oz. x 2 like the cotton version; it is 8.85 x 2, and the weight difference is very noticeable. I actually thought they shipped me the single thick at first until I examined it for myself (you can pinch the lining and shell sides away from each other so you know there are 2 layers; it seems like there is insulation space between the two layers just like with the cotton one, which is good).Don't get me wrong; it's still pretty thick. At a combined weight of 17.7 oz material, The only fleece I know of thicker than this is the R4, which has been discontinued for a long time, making this the heaviest fleece on the market I know of. This is just generic fleece and is not nearly as warm for the weight as real polartec like thermal pro, but the dead air space between the 2 layers surely would make up for it. They do have a pullover version, which is probably warmer than this zipper version. It is too slim to fit anything more than a light base layer underneath and too thick for most outer layers, other than stuff specifically designed for bulky midlayers.Don't rely on this for rain protection, as it's just DWR.

Very very expensive, and not all that warm even in mild August weather....
I'm amending this review down to 1 stars because while it seems like a nice hoodie, I put it on and sat outside last night in 65 degree weather, and I was chilled. Granted I only had on a t-shirt beneath the hoodie, but it's not a heavy duty double thick like cotton ones. It's August still and it wasn't warm enough! So be aware of that, it isn't nearly as warm as my old duluth trading double barrell hoodies.I've been wanting an Arborwear item for a while, but they are very, very expensive. This 130 buck double thick tech hoodie in blaze orange fits well, seems well made, but can it really be worth roughly twice what other similar products cost? Nope. And the heavy cotton double thick ones by this company cost the same or 10 bucks less. Paying for a name, plain and simple.

Great talk sizing, a “cooler feel” than the cotton double thick.
I have had a cotton double thick pullover for years. On the order of a decade and has been more than I ever expected. The zipper front double thick caught my eye as a more user friendly version and Injave not been disappointed yet. Layered under a flannel, it is now my go to jacket during this Minnesota Winter. At 6’8”, the Xl Tall is spot on and the sleeve length a rare treat. The one thing I notice is that the tech fabric has a cooler feel than the cotton version. It breathes better than the cotton, which I appreciate when splitting wood in the chilies months.

Very comfy
Yes, the hood is huge on Arborwear sweatshirts. That's part of the reason I purchased this item. When wearing a ball cap, or other hat underneath the huge hood makes for a very cozy environment for my head. I also have a very large head and have had problems in the past finding hoods large enough to give me the coverage and warmth I want. The sleeves are cut for movement and don't feel bulky at all. I love the interior pocket. The double layered tech fleece definitely makes this feel like much more than a sweatshirt.

Size is not accurate
I have been wanting a heavy sweatshirt and saw these. Normally I have issues with the sleeves being too short but not with this they fit great but I'm a big guy and the 4xl is not true to size. It is more like a 3xl. So disappointed I had to send it back.
