Excellent value bender
I have given this blender 5 stars because it has done everything that I've asked of it.I use every morning to make a 'green smoothie' which consists of tomatoes, broccoli, bok choi, carrots, cucumber, orange juice, moringa olifeira, chlorella, garlic, olive oil and a splash of balsamic vinegar. I start on the pulse function to chop through the harder vegetables and then turn up to the faster blend to finalise the mixture into a smooth drink.Blends fruits effortlessly and would be great for making gazpacho and soups.I chop harder vegetables, such as carrots, into manageable sizes before putting them into the blender but thereafter it does its job with ease. The motor seems powerful enough. The jug is lightweight and easily lifts off from the motor unit. I usually put my hand over the top (it only takes a few seconds to blend ingredients) having read previous reviews but have not experienced any problems with movement on the workbench or of splashing (the jug has a top to stop that). It's easy to wash out the jug.In conclusion a quality, value for money product which does exactly what it is supposed to. I'm not sure why people buy more expensive models.

Very good value for money
Excellent little blender does the job. A good powerful blade, easy to clean and a decent size. Good for soups, smoothies and milkshakes. Very good value for money :)

Review Updated 2015. The jug crazes/cracks easily. Don't use it with very hot liquids.
UPDATE Sept 2015Around June/July 2025 I noticed that the jug had quite a bit of.crazing and seemed to be leaking - liquid seeping out.As I haven't used with ice or raw vegetables or raw meats I was surprised & disappointed. Eventually bought a new jug for it in September. I saw that some reviewers had said that you shouldn't put hot food/liquid in it. But the User Book says you can put simmering food/liquid in it. I've been very careful to only use well cooled food/liqiud in it, and it seems o.k. Very disappointing as it was to replace 16year old blender which still worked fine but the moter was on the blink. Therefore I've revised my stars. Only 3 now - not 5!Bought June 2013:I've been using it for soups etc, and it performs fine. Haven't put ice in it so no idea how it handles with crushing ice. Glad I got it.

Brilliant!
I have had a number of blenders over the years as they don't seem to last long when you use them everyday. This one was by far the cheapest and is also the best! Very easy to clean and it has a clever hole in the base so that water does not collect around the motor when it's upside down in the dishwasher. Jug size is good for making two generous smoothies and it's lighter to handle than the glass jugs. Overall very pleased with it and would certainly recommend

Great for two months
I purchased this item on 24 August and it worked really well and had smoothies for myself and husband every day. It started making a loud noise when using on 24 October and pouring liquid from the bottom... Therefore can no longer use.. I have tried to contact the seller twice now and, they still have not contacted me back, hence one star

Very good blender
I needed a blender to mix up whey protein for my new diet. But using it to make smoothies is great and I'm using it every day and fruit never gets wasted anymore! Really nice blender and very easy to clean with a great price.

Don't waste your money
I had this blender for little over a year and if you asked me to review it a year ago I would have said it's fantastic. And it is, if all you're making is soups and smoothies. But it's not great if you're trying to blend things that are a bit tougher, like nuts. What surprised me is that it couldn't even handle chickpeas when I tried to make houmous.... Bearing in mind these were soft, cooked chickpeas. The loud noise another reviewer refers to when blending ice is the motor struggling. It struggled for me with chickpeas, raisins, dates and frozen fruit.... Anything that isn't already soft to begin with. It finally conked out a few weeks back when trying to blend a banana smoothie. Not sure if I had a dud but I've got my money back and wouldn't buy another. The motor is 350W so it's surprising it couldn't handle some of the softer things like frozen fruit and dried fruit. I've since been using a friends active blend and it's much faster, even though it's only 300W.... Interesting.

Deceptively good
Ok specification wise this machine does not look like it can handle much. Just 350 watts where there are champions like Vitamix sporting 1200 watts. The blades aren't super sharp either. But I'm impressed. I don't know how it does it but the results are seriously smooth. You have to slice fruit into quarters and I haven't tried ice. But it works a treat with fruit and veg. Let it run and drop fruit/veg in from the top lid opening. Celery and carrot soup (raw), apple milkshake and pineapples all blended. Very compact and solid feel. Recommend you try it before shelling out for a more expensive one.
