Lovely heat all day long
This is my absolute favourite heat wrap, promises and provides all day long heat to aching muscles and pain relief. This neck version is more versatile than the lumbar wrap as I can use it for lower back problems as well as on neck, shoulder, elbow, knee joints as well. As an arthritis sufferer, I am rarely without these in my store cupboard particularly coming into winter, and having ordered these at this exceptional price, I’m putting in another order with this quick supplier before stock runs out. What more can I say?

Effective and long lasting
These are the best product on the market. They are sufficiently large to cover the neck and a bit of shoulder. They stay hot for at least 16 hours, as they claim, and are quite often still warm after 12 hours. They have adhesive which sticks to your skin but nothing worse than pulling off a plaster when you are done. Perhaps not so great for the elderly though. They are more expensive that other products on the market but the best I have tried (by a mile). Many other heat patches you can't even attach directly to the skin and they end up flapping around miles from where the contact is needed. So I recommend these.

soothing warmth for neck pain
overall this is a good product . I have spondylosis in my neck and am trying all sorts to get any relief that I can . This product gives a soothing warmth and definitely helps . The only slight problem is that it can lift away a little , at the edges , but still worth buying .

Aaaaaahhhh!
I've been suffering from tense and painful shoulder muscles for over 20 years, and having a desk job doesn't help either. What a pleasant surprise then to find these ThermaCare heat wraps being offered in a Vine newsletter. There are three wraps in each box, with detailed instructions both on the reverse and on the outer cover of each wrap itself. The application is very easy, if a little fiddly at first, as the wraps are fairly large (approx. 29 cm long and 9.5 cm wide when fully unfolded), but they can be repositioned a couple of times without the self-adhesive losing any of its stickiness. The wraps do need to be fairly taut against the skin for the heat to have any effect, so a bit of repositioning may be required, especially in the neck/shoulder area. You should feel a slight warming a few seconds after the wrap is in position, and it can remain in place for up to 12 hours at a time. As the pain is usually worse in the evenings, I applied the wraps in the early evening (approx 7 pm) and left them on overnight. Waking up in the morning with all the stiffness and discomfort gone is bliss, and I've already used up all three supplied wraps and ordered two more boxes; at £4 a box, they're probably cheaper than buying them on the high street. The only puzzle to me is why it says (in highlights) on the box and the wrap cover that it provides up to 16 hours of pain relief when the instructions clearly advise you not wear them for more then 12 hours in 24 hours, but I guess I can live with that.Despite this treatment method providing drug-free pain relief, it still comes with plenty of cautionary advice (taken from the wrap cover): do not use with medicated ointments or topical gels, or with pain rubs and/or other ointments, or other forms of heat; do not use on unhealthy, broken or damaged skin or on areas of the body where you can't feel heat; don't use on areas of bruising or swelling that have occurred in the last 48 hours; don't use on people who are unable to follow all the usage instructions or remove the wrap, including children, infants and some elderly; if cell contents leak and/or wrap is damaged and torn; be careful when applying to the wrist - do not overlap the heat cells; consult a healthcare professional if you have diabetes, poor circulation, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis or are pregnant; check skin frequently during use in case of burns or blisters; remove immediately in case of irritation or a burn; if the product feels too hot, stop use or wear over a layer of clothing, do not apply more pressure; stop use and consult a doctor if you experience any discomfort, burning, swelling, rash or other skin changes that persist where the wrap is worn or if after 7 days your pain gets worse or remains unchanged; if the iron in the cells is ingested or comes into contact with your skin and eyes, remove wrap, rinse affected area with water and seek professional assistance immediately; keep out of the reach of children and pets; never heat in a microwave or attempt to reheat, as wrap could catch fire; if you are 55 or older your risk of burning increases, so wear wraps over a layer of clothing or cloth and do not wear them while sleeping; remove product before undergoing any MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) procedures to avoid increased risk of burns; and finally, do not wear for more than 12 hours in a 24-hour period. To those with a known plaster allergy: the adhesive used in the heat wraps is similar to Mepore dressings or Mefix tape used in doctor surgeries and hospitals and as such is hypoallergenic, but if you have a history of skin sensitivity or allergic reaction to these types of materials, I would play safe and not buy this product.

Do the job but too expensive
A fantastic product which does what it says. They are single use and disposable. They are however far too expensive for a few iron filings wrapped in paper with some glue on. Thermacare must be making a fortune. I need two packs a day, one for my neck and one for my back. This is about £30 a week or £120 a month which is outrageous. I honestly think they would sell a lot more if they were cheaper. They clearly have no idea that the residents of Scotland just don’t have this kind of money. Most big companies eg. Unilever and Proctor & Gamble make their products much cheaper here than in the South of England as they know they won’t sell otherwise. Have Thermacare not heard of charging what the market will bear? Everyone else does this.

Very well fitting product
Used to relieve the effects of whiplash, these are great! I like the shape of them and the fact that the stickiness works for hours but doesn't hurt when it is removed. The heat lasts for longer than 8 hours I would say however, the manufacturer advises 8 hours and remove. I find these work better than the standard heat pads that you get as the shape of these fit nicely around the neck area. I imagine you can also use the item of other areas although the sticky parts and only at either end of the pad.

Effective pain relief
I've been using this product for many years now and find it quick and effective for dealing with pain. It also means that I don't have to ingest as many painkillers when I'm using it. Especially effective when I'm out and about. Unfortunately if you sweat a lot adhesion isn't great. Nevertheless I find it a very useful product.

Pathetic adhesion. Not enough adhesion to remain.
I needed to buy these to treat the pain and inflammation from caused by my frozen shoulder. I am already on a lot of medication to other illnesses and did not want to have to take painkillers orally. I have used smaller heat wraps made by ThermaCare many times before for other pain and them to be very good for pain and inflammation and my girlfriend found the smaller one great to when she needed pain relief. I don't doubt that the product gives good relief from pain, but like other reviewers here have found ,they are not sticky enough to stay in place for more than an hour if you are lucky. They just fall off when you move. Amazon kindly refunded me without having to send them back.
