Good and sturdy
My husband loves these boots, having been on his feet all day and patrolling all day he needs something that will be comfy all day.

Not very good quality, but £20 what should I expect....
They appear to be made of very thin leather over a synthetic material, leather has now started to come away and break up, so they are no longer water proof! Bearing in mind that these are less than three months old!!! Would not recommend to anyone who needs a hard wearing pair of boots.

Great boots for Cadet use or Military but only for occasional use!
Great boots lovely and comfortable and warm, had a pair of these when I was in military and they never let me down. Now I'm a civvy, I missed my boots so after trying various walking boots and finding them splitting after a few months of use ( apparently according to store I bought them from, walking boots are for occasional use and not to be worn all the time!) so gone back to these boots and as said, brilliant and hardly needed wearing in!3 months on now since I wrote the above. Boots still comfortable but I have found the uppers have parted company with the soles in the toe/ ball of the foot area. Maybe I should expect this as I wear them all the time but I would expect something that is billed as a Combat/Patrol boot to last longer than this. Being ex military I look after my boots and dry them when wet and regularily clean them and polish them so not at all impressed! Have E-mailed company with pictures but as yet no reply! So if you are like me and wish to wear these all the time don't get these! They may be reasonably priced but they have used sub standard thread to maybe keep the cost down!!! I shall be buying ex Austrian/German Paratrooper boots next as I know they are fine! Shame really as these are a nice lightweight comfortable boot! Can't seem to upload photographs so unable to show the problem. They may just be a faulty pair as the girlfriend says, so to be fair, if the company answer my E mail and offer replacements I shall add to this review. So, we shall see what happens. As another amendment, had local shoe repair shop look at boots, he says the stitching on the areas that are coming away has not actually gone through the boot leather and it's been glued to the sole. He can't repair them as there is not enough of a lip to re-stitch them. Gorilla glue is doing that job now! Still comfortable but need to avoid puddles or wet grass. No reply from e mails to combat uk!!!Further to all of my previous additions to my review on these boots; Its now the 1st February and the boots are still comfortable and the " split" has not got any worse.... Despite what my local shoe doctor said it actually looks more like the " leather" is peeling off from the canvas in these areas.... So it looks more like some of the boot is made from a man made leather rather than genuine leather. They are still comfortable and reasonable warm when standing around. I'm now using proper dubbing on them so they are still waterproof but obviously you can polish them to a high shine once you have dubbing on them. So, as my final advice... If you want a good comfortable boot these are. But if you want a boot for every day use don't get these. For occasional use like maybe parade night with the CCF or Air Cadets or Army Cadets, or Sea Cadets they are fine, but if you are on patrol or wearing them every day maybe not such a good choice. But they are cheap so maybe with more gentle usage ( no yomping up mountains or through swamps) they will survive better. Or maybe I just have a bad pair.... However I am waiting for a new pair of army surplus Austrian military boots to arrive as they were recommended by a friend to be more up to my kind of boot abuse!Hope this is a help and thank you for reading.

What I needed
So far so good. The boots are comfortable and hard wearing. No complaints so far

Comfort
The collar on the boot is not a smooth surface. Wearing them for 6 hours at work left the skin between my ankle and calf very sore and blistered. Inside the collar on both boots rubbed both legs very painful

Very Comfortable
Bought these boots for my son to use for Army Cadets. They are very comfortable and easy to maintain. They do sightly leak water when used all day in water but they where solid for about 5 hours.
