Use these for various Christmas lights. Very easy to use, just push the peripheral blobs down for the on times, leave them up for off and set the time. There is an override switch at the side if you want permanent on, but no permanent off setting. They are quite large but two will (just) fit side by side in a double socket. They seem to keep time OK at least for the month or so when I use them. Main downside is they are quite noisy, I would not want them in a bedroom and even in a quiet lounge there is a permanent and pronounced whirring sound, about equivalent to a fridge running.

They're functional, but to the bare minimum level. Seems a lot of the positive reviews were left immediately, give it a few months before reviewing. The product satisfaction drops rapidly once they've actually been in use for a bit!On the plus side, they're easy to set up, no need to read instructions as it's very obvious. Turn dial to current time, press down black blobs for the time you want the appliance on. Each blob is 15 minutes. There's a switch on the side to override the timer if you need the appliance ON, but no way to override the timer and turn it OFF without unplugging.One started rattling after a week, and but 3 weeks they were all making awful noises. I use them in my bedroom to control animal lights, heat and UV and it got to the point it was easier to unplug them when I went to bed and plug them in and reset time as soon as I got up as the rattling was just unbearable. They've been in use 3 months now there's no way to decrease the noise, its just gradually getting worse.One is super easy to turn, one hard and the other almost impossible. When you're unplugging and plugging in all the time and need to reset the time it's really difficult. Couldn't turn without pressing down blobs and messing up settings.The blobs are also small and very fiddly, if you need timers on specific times (eg my tortoise needs 12 hours of heat and light per day) its difficult to get it exactly spot on.I've since upgraded to digital timers and there's none of the problems I experienced using these ones.Time keeping is also a bit vague, left them plugged in to see consitency and by the end of 2 weeks they were all out, one by an hour.Would not recommend for use in quiet rooms/at night, if it's going to be unplugged and reset a lot, for those who have difficulty with hand movments, for appliances requiring exact timings. Just spend a few quid more and get some digital ones!

Easy to use and set time...

i like these better than the digital or " smart " timers as i inevitably lose the instructions and can never remember the 3 million buttons needed to reset them ! only issue with these, is if anything ends up shoved in the same cupboard and rubs on them the plastic cog inside wears or snaps . they are very cheap so its not the end of the world , i can fit them next to each other on my extension cable - work well , i have them on the fish tank turning lights on and off as well as an under counter light
