Great product
Very good product - i use it all the time when mountain climbing and has held good. I always check the camera is secure just because i was quite scarred it would fall loose but it clips in nicely and securely, so don't think its gonna be an issue

Okay with a couple of reservations
If you're up and moving this is a great piece of kit for keeping your hands/neck free. There are some issues though.1. The base piece will only lock into the belt piece one way up. It is a bit difficult to screw it in such that it's the right way up and it's a bit difficult to know what 'the right way up' is just by looking. A marking on the base piece would be useful.2. The 'lock' is released by pressing the camera in. It can then be removed from the belt piece. When you sit down it generally releases and your camera tumbles to the floor. Be careful when sitting, hold your camera first. My camera is light, I'm not sure how this would work with a heavier set up.

Well made, makes taking the camera with you less hassle
I was a little dubious about this first of all but it's actually a pretty well made and designed piece of kit. The plastic is stronger / thicker than I imagined which inspires confidence. Very straightforward to attach using your tripod thread, it allows the camera to hang with the lense pointing straight downwards. I've used it with a a standard mens leather belt that's maybe 5mm thick and it's a snug fit, if you're using thicker webbing or a thicker belt you might struggle to get it on.I've taken this to a couple of events recently with a small 35mm lense attached and it's been great I didn't notice the weight at all and you soon get used to your extra width but take care going through the first couple of doors. The location means that it fitted quite nicely under waterproofs on wet days and makes managing the camera a lot easier than when using a strap. The only thing to be aware of as other users have pointed out is that there is no positive lock to prevent the camera from being pushed up and out of the holder from underneath. In practice this means take a care when your seated or getting in and our of vehicles particularly with longer lenses as there is a chance you'll push the camera up and out.I'd recommend it purely because I often hesitate taking a big camera to events due to the hassle of managing it and walking around day with it on a strap which can be a PITA, using this has taken the hassle factor out of the equation and I've been glad to have a decent camera with me.

I use it as a chest mount :)
Good product does what it says, I don't use it on the hip Instead I use it as a chest mount, 1 week holiday in body of waters mostly and it help me carry the camera safely. I can even adjust it up to the shoulder. It could have been a bit smaller and padded. I have to pad it for comfort.

Great if you are standing all the time but beware
Twice now my camera has fallen out if I sit down in a chair or kneel down to get a shot with my other camera. Great if you are standing all the time but beware!

great to attach baby monitor to wall
Used to attach a spherical motorola baby monitor camera to the wall, whilst allowing easy removal for trips away ... great for the job!

Great idea but doesn't work
Great idea, but my camera (with only a small 'pancake' lens fitted), kept falling out of the clip onto the ground. I would not recommend this product.
