This brush does the job perfectly!
I have long hair (and lots of it!) I recently went back to boar-bristle brushes when I decided to start taking better care of my hair in an attempt to make it healthier. This brush is fantastic as distributing oils from the roots to the ends of your hair when used regularly. It is definitely true that the bristles won't penetrate very thick hair (which is the case with me), but the process for brushing your hair just works differently when using this type of brush. The way I use it: before bed, I section my hair in two by putting the top half of my hair up. I first brush the bottom half, making sure to get as close to the roots as possible. I then take my hair down and repeat with the top half. It is more of a process than brushing your hair with a brush that has stiffer bristles, but the very reason that boar-bristle brushes are so great is that they are gentle and prevent breakage.I think boar-bristle brushes are a necessity if you are trying to grow your hair out, and this brush does the job perfectly! It's a cheap, good-quality brush that I would absolutely buy again!

Great brush.
K. I have long, VERY thick Middle Eastern hair. Some of the reviews have not read this brushes description. It is NOT for de tangling! It is NOT for getting knots out! It’s for smoothing the natural surface of the hair. It does NOT go through all the layers of your hair in one go! That’s not what it’s for. You need to do your hair in ‘sections’ to do what this brush is for. The boar hair (what the brush is made of) smooths the cuticle of the hair out, acting almost like a ‘zip’ closing all the cuticle down, so it goes shiny. So section your hair, back to front and do underneath the hair too. I use my tangle teaser first, if I need it. Then use this to finish off. And my hair loves it. This is helping my hair to grow really well. My hair is looking very healthy. Better than it’s been for ages. This and Loreal absolute masque and serum are doing wonders for it.

Bringing back proper hair brushing!
Two things about brushing with a real bristle brush I didn't know before I bought this: 1) The bristles actually have cuticles like human hair which helps them to grip your hair properly and evenly distribute your natural oils. 2) It's really therapeutic to sit and brush your hair properly for a few minutes rather than raking a brush through the knots before legging it out of the door! I decided that (for no really valid reason at all) I would treat my hair to a bit of an old fashioned brushing - 100 good strokes of the brush before bed every night, a la Victorian lady. This brush is good not because the bristles make light work my very thick hair, but because they don't. To explain - getting the real benefit of a proper brushing, you need to start underneath and really make sure you start at the scalp and work in small sections. I know it sounds like a faff, but it should only take a few minutes and my hair really is better for it - less greasy at the roots and less dry at the ends. And it's a nice few minutes of 'me time' that can be protected by brandishing the sturdy wooden construction at anyone who dares to interrupt!

Good for people going Low/No Shampoo
I bought this brush as I'm trying to go Low Shampoo (Low Poo. If you are unsure what this is, please do Google it. You will get a much better explanation)Many people recommended a boar bristle brush to help move oil down the hair, meaning it can reach the normally dryer ends. The idea is that this, along with other things, will help extend time between hair washes and improve hair health. I have been using this brush for about 2 months now and it seems to do that quite nicely. The quality of the brush itself is great. It is a decent size paddle brush, made of good quality wood and bristles. I checked with Kent, and the PF07 brush is 100% Boar bristle. I have had 2 bristles fall out since purchase, however I am washing it every other day.I have quite thick hair, so to use this brush I section my hair off to make sure that, when brushing, the bristles can reach all strands. Doing it this way can leave your hair looking a bit flat, therefore I brush at night just before going to bed. Please do bare in mind that I have bought this brush purely for moving oil down my hair to the ends, and not as a general hair brush. For daily use and styling, I have just bought a wooden paddle brush.Overall, I am very pleased with this brush and use it very regularly. Quality product!

good quality but too much static
Like another reviewer, I have had serious issues with static using this brush. The pros are that it's well made, the handle is a nice weight and the rubber grips means your hand won't slip. The bristles also seem to be attached securely and feel nice on my scalp. However, there is one enormous con: just one stroke from the brush and my hair is full of static, even if it was completely calm before. I will say that it smooths down pretty quick just running my hand along my hair after. Nonetheless, I bought the brush in part because natural bristles are supposed to be ANTI-static. Another smaller problem is that I can't use it to brush my hair until it is at least halfway dry, because the bristles are a little too bendy.

Kent brushes are very good
I like the quality of Kent hairbrushes. I’ve had one for quite a few years and it needed replacing so I bought the same again. It’s just as good quality as before. I have medium length fairly thick hair and this is a good brush for me.I have two Kent hairbrushes. One has the pure bristle and plastic pin bristles which I use first and then the new pure bristle one for finishing and smoothing. Much better than the all-plastic bristles on cheaper brushes.Good value hairbrush.
