Works very well with Nikon D50
Setup is not obvious on the D50: you have to toggle the self timer button (near the shutter release) to select the mode: timer, delayed remote or instant remote. There is also a menu setting for the remote standby timer ie how long the camera will stay in remote mode before going back to normal. The remote seems fairly well made and with my D50 it seems to work anywhere in the same room as the camera and even from the rear (presumably by reflecting the infra red off nearby objects). I tested it outside in cloudy conditions and it works for just over 10m.If you can't see a reason to buy this device:I actually bought it to help with copying of lots of old snapshots with the camera locked off in fully manual mode. Apart from preventing camera shake when you press the shutter, it also means you never have to worry about accidentally moving the focus or touching anything else between shots. It is also very handy for getting surprise close-ups of your pets, children etc and I will certainly keep it in the holdall. It arrived next day as promised (Prime). I think this is a genuine bargain.By the way, for those that like to chance it on the specs, my other camera is a Nikon D3100 and I can confirm it has no infra red sensor; you will need a wired or RF wireless unit for that model.

Works perfectly
Had this for a number of years. Simple, cheap and does exactly what is needed for my Nikon DLSRActually gave this one to my mum when she was visiting, so went out and bought another similar one.Don't waste money on buying 'official' ones from the camera makers themselves at 10 or 20 times the price.Get this instead as does job perfectly

CHEAP BUT WORKS
My PC card reader wouldn't read SDXC card from my camera (poss a hardware or a driver fault) so bought this to connect camera directly to PC. Works fine and long enough (1.5m) to reach USB3 port at rear of PC! ! Great value as Nikon version expensive. Decided to buy "extras " to get free postage and ended up with a set of filters and THIS compatible wi-fi remote shutter release (also bargain). Arrived on time and all working well!

Bought it a few weeks ago and could not get ...
Bought it a few weeks ago and could not get it to trigger regardless of distance and directed straight towards the receiver. By chance I happened to press the button when I raised his hand and then it triggered. But it surprised me somewhat, it only works when it is directed slantwise downward toward the camera.

The remote itself works great with my Nikon D3200
Received well packed and within due date. The remote itself works great with my Nikon D3200. Just set the appropriate shooting mode on the camera, relax and get your subject(s) sorted and press the button when they are ready or, if you feel devilish, as a surprise shot. Cheaper than the Nikon remote which I doubt does anything extra. Great!

Cheap, doesn't last long
It worked well, but stopped working after not even a year. The price is pretty low, so of course, you can't expect much. Since mine broke, I can't recommend it.

Once through the washing machine and still works!
I don't normally write reviews for such low price items however today I had the devastation of finding this item against the glass in the washing machine after I forgot to remove from my pocket last night. Once the cycle finishing I dried it off with a towel and hairdryer just to test in full expectation it would be dead but I was wrong...It lives! Including the original battery. This is a great item for the price and it with Infrared so it needs line of sight. Ignore all the reviews about this not working over 5 feet etc as I’m sure these people don’t understand that line of sight is requiredToday I measured the distance it still works at and it was so long I had to go outside to test it as I couldn’t find a long enough section in my house. The maximum range is 11.8 metres of 38.7 feet which is incredible.Used plenty since purchasing in June 2017 and the battery shows no sign of depletion.I use this with a Nikon D3300.

Not worth it
Pretty useless more than 5 feet from the camera. Works well if you're closer than that. Not worth buying though if like me you want to remotely fire from a distance.

Alles OK,sehr empfehlenswert!
