Product Description What is Doctor’s Best Curcumin C3 Complex? Doctor’s Best Curcumin C3 Complex is a potent antioxidant that protects cells and tissues by fighting free radicals. It is also proven to support healthy joint function. Doctor's Best Curcumin C3 Complex contains a standardized extract of Curcuma longa root and supplies 95% total curcuminoids, including curcumin, bisdemethoxy curcumin and demethoxy curcumin. As curcumin is difficult to absorb we add, BioPerine, an extract of Black Pepper fruit that contains 95-98% piperine, as a natural bioenhancer.* How does it work? Extensive research over the past quarter-century suggests that curcumin can help counter toxins and influence cell survival through other means. Due to the potent radical-scavenging activity of the curcumins, cultured human skin cells subjected to free radical attack fared better when curcumin or a mixture of the three major curcumins was administered. Furthermore, the three curcumins combined had a greater effect than an equal amount of curcumin, which has led some scientists to claim a synergistic effect from the combination. Excellent value, despite the high price
I don't like to criticise other reviews but I have studied this subject carefully and the many reviews saying this one is expensive are simply mistaken. The active ingredient, curcumin, in this product is the cheapest of 19 whose content I calculated, and many times cheaper than the majority. The problem is the labels on most products are confusing. If you want to understand them, here is some explanation.Turmeric root, the spice, contains about 2.5% of the active ingredient curcumin. Curcumin is known to be a powerful antioxidant which, among other things, protects against mental decline. Curcumin needs to be taken with piperine (the active ingredient of black pepper) or it won't be absorbed. You can get some benefit by eating curry made from turmeric spice and black pepper but the scientific tests which demonstrated the health benefits used much higher levels than you will get from the occasional curry. This product (assuming the label can be trusted) contains 500mg of 95% standardised curcumin. That means 475mg of curcumin (+3mg of piperine). Now let me give one example of another brand. The Riteflex listing states:"Our Turmeric 2500mg supplement is one of the highest strengths available Standardised at 95% Curcumins provided from 50mg (50:1) extract"This means you get 47.5mg of curcumin. Now, notice that the Doctor's Best label says "per one capsule". A lot of turmeric supplements, including Riteflex, quote the content per SERVING, which is two capsules, so you actually only get 23.75mg of curcumin per capsule. That is one twentieth of the amount of a Doctor's Best capsule. Therefore I insiste, the Doctor's Best product, despite, its price, is excellent value. I am not associated in any way with the suppliers. I simply believe in the truth and in getting numbers right.Strictly for pedants: There seems to be an error on the Doctor's Best label. 32.5g x 2.5% = 812.5mg which is more than 500mg. The 32.5g figure appears to be wrong.

These tablets are easy enough to swallow and taking one a day should ...
Curcumin/Tumeric has been highly publicised in recent months and has even featured on BBC’s ‘Trust Me I’m a Doctor’. The theory is that it can help with inflammation, digestive health and has anti-cancerous properties. I have taken it for some time now to help with inflammation after the gym and digestion and whilst I can’t say with 100% certainty it has helped in these areas, it certainly hasn’t hurt either. It is important to get a supplement with Bioperine as this extract from Black pepper helps you absorb the Curcumin for more benefits. These tablets are easy enough to swallow and taking one a day should last you about 4 months. I’ll admit that these can seem a little pricey for what they are and I have found other Curcumin tablets, with bioperine for less here on Amazon, so maybe shop around. Bear in mind that these are also easier for your body to absorb than the solid tablets that have been researched in the past, as these capsules contain the actual Tumeric powder. All in all these are well worth a try.

Doctor's Best 500 mg Curcumin C3 Complex Capsules - Pack of 120
Turmeric is the new superfood on the block, with reported benefits including reduced inflammation and cancer killing properties. The jury is out on supplements - is it just a placebo effect or is there truth to it? I cannot say. There is no smell when opening this tub, unlike some supplement brands, the capsules are normal size - like paracetamol capsules, easy to swallow (for most people) and there is no aftertaste or reminder that you have taken them. It doesn't give you radioactive pee or anything either! My partner and I only take supplements during the week - we do no take anything at weekends. I'm a firmer believer that everything is good in a balanced way. I do suffer with a painful knee - it likes to give out on me when I climb stairs too quickly and I have noticed a reduction in this during the last two weeks of consuming one capsule a day. The capsules are quite pricey, but they do included Curcumin and BioPerine - both said to increase the effects of turmeric. I will update this review when I have finished the tub. Try it, there is nothing to lose!

IBS no more.
Curcumin is the latest so called "super food" that is in the news lately. I remember Raspberry Ketones being a similar marvel for its weight shifting properties and before that Wheatgrass for its energy attaining properties. Curcumin is found in Tumeric, and when supplemented with blackpepper extract the body can absorb 100% of the curcumin which is what this particular product is focused on.Unlike all other so called "super foods", there seems to be a somewhat differing of opinions as to what benefits curcumin will give to the body. It seems widely accepted now that, this supplement will hlep with digestive and inflammation which is why I decided to use this product having suffered from inflamed bowels now for about 4 years.I have used many different products to assist with IBS but mainly my focus has been on treating the symptoms of IBS rather that the cause. This product when taken with food has helped me increase regularity by 75%, and that was within a few days of taking the product. My stomach pains have lessened as result. The Doctors Best label is awarded to supplements that manager to attain a high quantity of core supplement in to the product, and having researched different products, I haven't found another product with the Curcumin value this high, and whilst the cost of this product is high, it is worth it.There seems to be school of thought that also thinks that Curcumin will also assist your mental health, although I think more evidence needs to be properly evaluated before making such claims.
