Mighty Wash / Plant Wash - Spider Mite Bug Killer Spray Solution 1 ltr

I haven't even used this stuff yet, and already I hate it. If you think the 100ml SMC Spidermite control concentrate is expensive, think again ! It doesn't tell you so on the product page, but this one litre pack is a ready-mixed preparation, and cannot be diluted, which must surely make it the most prohibitively expensive insecticide ever offered. Aside from the fact that one litre of a dilute spray will enable a single application to only about a third of my 14ft greenhouse, the cheap-looking label describes it as being "99.8335% water, 0.1665% inert ingredients" - and it doesn't even tell you what those "inert ingredients" are. However, if the word "inert" is being used in its correct sense, ("Inert: having no inherent power of action... without active chemical, physiological or other properties") it means that one is paying £14.75 for 1.7ml of ineffective ingredient... Almost £10,000 per litre !! It makes even printer ink seem dirt cheap, and is probably close on 100 times more than the cost of the most highly-researched professional insecticide.It's noteworthy in my view that none of the enthusiastic reviews so far submitted mention any of the above facts. You may draw any conclusions you wish. But do bear in mind that in the light of current scientific knowledge, repeat applications appear certain to be needed.I haven't tried this product yet, so it may well work for all I know (at least on those pests and eggs it is able to reach - and it only needs to miss one egg for the whole infestation to start again), but even if it does, that doesn't excuse the extortionate price compared with other effective products, or the absence of necessary information about chemical content, or the less than frank advertising. The Royal Horticultural Society's page on Red spider mite gives the up-to-date facts on dealing with this pest as currently known - and they aren't encouraging. One is always ready to try new or unfamiliar controls against greenhouse pests; but one expects them to be properly labelled and fully and honestly described at the point of sale. I would have thought that safety and health regulations alone would have necessitated a declaration as to the precise chemical nature of the supposed effective ingredient - although if it really is inert, ie, without any effect whatsoever on anything, maybe that's why it isn't necessary...

This stuff is really really awesome. Honestly guys if ever u got spider mites get this stuff u wont be disappointed. Forget rubbish reviews on intotheweb this works single application. Ised twice more to make sure but didn't apply second coat till seven days after first and there were no mites. The eggs take three days to hatch but they just didnt hatch.....and the adults were literally BLOWN UP by this stuff. Checked it out through my 60x mag and it was amazing.....was the napalm of the mite world.....anyway sorry for going on and on but anyone who grows and has had mites knows how soul destroying it is to find u got the little critters. I would also like to add that I did have to contact seller direct after first application due to a worry for the residue left behind but he was very very informative and helpful and I have later found residue is nothing to worry about.....they sell a power wash to apply after to remove the residue but tbh I just used soap water and then plain water......awesome. well buy again to have in stock just incase and for sure will recommend to all.

After two applications it nearly did the job. Lack of an expiry date a concern.

Do not buy!! It dont work and you only get enough to do 3 or 4 plants no value for money here

worked a treat and no side effects for the plant, looks great now

It does exactly like said on the bottle, you can be spider mite free in a few days with no problems to your plants
