The Bakken Goes Boom: Oil and the Changing Geographies of Western North Dakota

Returned it
Not a book about the boom but a dry boring history of the land and country for the last 60 years. Reads like a school bok. Plus any book that has Ryan Taylor writing a chapter in it about his cowboy gichen he doesn't run his own farm is enough for my not to read. I did not make it though 1 page. Great return policyrom amazon though

this isn't a bad buy.
In contrast to the other review, this book is gold. Not only does it discuss the changing landscapes, it undertakes the underpinning principles that are driving the oil industry. While it is able to convey these ideas, it also explores the local folks perceptions of change in place. Quite honestly, for $15.00, this isn't a bad buy.
