Another rich and quickly absorbed carrier, similar to argan
I know those of us who like using simple carrier oils rather than complex synthetic novel chemistry on our skins, are always keen to meet the 'new' touted carrier kid on the block! So here we have cacay, seemingly being marketed against argan (for absorbency and Vitamin C and E content) and rosehip for Vitamin A (natural retinol) and Vitamin F (linoleic acid) . Reputedly this nut oil have higher quantities of all these vitamins, and therefore is a great combination for both moisturisation and softening scar tissue and healing 'outbreaks'The cacay or 'kahai' nut comes from Columbia. Previously wild harvested, the growing popularity of the oil is now encouraging planting of these trees in deforested areas of the rainforest, so this may also be an oil of interest to environmentalists and those wanting to help peoples in poorer parts of the world - though that of course would depend whether there were ethical local initiatives or whether big business was creating another profitable market whilst underpaying on the ground workers. The nut comes from an evergreen tree, Caryodendron orinocense, and the oil, and the nut, also edibleAnyway, these wider considerations aside, this is certainly a skin kind oil. It feels a little more viscous to me than argan, but absorbs quickly, and only 3 or 4 drops are needed to massage into the face. You won't be left like a chip!I will personally blend essential oils which are themselves beautiful and effective in facial skin care, and will make my face also smell heavenly, rather than slightly nutty.Properly presented in a dark glass bottle, to avoid degradation through light, and with a dropper to avoid contamination and allow precision of delivery, I will keep the 100ml bottle as it is, in the fridge, and decant a much smaller amount into a little bottle (20ml) to which I will add 2-4 drops of essential oil. This is because, over time, essential oils can react with and degrade the rubber end of the pipette.Looking around generally at pricing on Cacay, this seems competitively priced

Great natural oil
I have had facial products with Cacay oil in them before so I was aware of how great this oil is before I asked for this product.Cacay oil comes from the Cacay nut a tree grown in South America. This oil has been found to be rich in fatty acids as well as vitamins E and A. Some claim that it has 50% more vitamin E than argan oil. It also has high levels of retinol making it perfect for skincare.I love the somewhat nutty smell this has. The oil is also quite a pretty colour. It feels quite oily when you first apply it but it is surprisingly quickly absorbed into the skin so doesn't feel heavy or greasy at all. This is aUK company. the outer cardboard box is obviously recyclable, the oil comes in a brown glass bottle with an eyedropper dispenser. Keep this out of the light as light does damage the oil. I keep mine in its box in a drawer in a room that is not overheated. This is not tested on animals, it is organic, and is only natural ingredients. It is also cruelty-free, and has no preservatives.I love this oil and not only use it on my face but also on my hands and nails. I really love the scent but can't detect the rose element.

Rejuvenating facial oil
I've never heard of Cacay oil before and I was looking forward to trying this oil. I've done a little bit of research about the benefits of using Cacay oil. Apparently, Cacay oil is known for its ability to help improve skin tone, soften skin, reduce signs of ageing such as helping to smooth wrinkles. ... This nutrient-rich oil also has 3 times more Vitamin A (Retinol) than Rosehip Oil as well as a higher Vitamin E and F content than Argan Oil. So in theory this is the best botanical oil.I've decided to incorporate this oil into my evening routine. Love this oil. It is natural, nourishing and my skin looks amazing in the morning. Firming too, which is not always the case with oils. Easily absorbed and the fragrance isn’t overpowering. I noticed that my skin seemed visibly much smoother and had a lovely healthy glow after just a few days. Also, my complexion looks more even and brighter.Priced at £19.99, the oil is really good value as you get 100ml and this would last you months because you need just a few drops to cover your face.

Nice oil but irritates my eyes
I used to use Native Botanics' Cacay oil, which I was very happy with and I went through quite a ew bottles of them. After I found that particular product was no longer available in the market, I looked for an alternative and found this product. It felt and smelt okay, whilst it was just not as good as the product I used to use. But I noticed that it actually irritates my eyes terribly if any tiny amount went in to my eyes even many hours after the application (I have a very sensitive eyes, and for that I do not even use mascaras). After about 1 week of use I had to stop applying it particularly around my eyes because if I quickly rubbed my eyes after the application, it makes my eyes water and I cannot even keep my eyes open.To be fair, I think this product still delivers the benefit of cacay oil, so I will use it for my body/hands, but not for my face.

Unusual smell
Unusual smelling oil, decent sized bottle but I've really enjoyed using it. Quite a dense texture but it does sink into your skin nicely and it's lovely for mixing with a bit of your daily moisturiser. This oil has been really nice for evening out my skin texture and complexion and I've been getting far fewer dry patches when I use it regularly.Nice quality brand, I've had a few of their products now and would buy again.

Absorbs nicely
This cacay oil can be used as a face oil (as well as body) and it is great for combination/ spot prone skin as well as things like acne scars. It works well with my difficult skin and hasn’t made me breakout at all or feel any irritation or sensitivity. Great for nourishing the skin.
