Has anyone found relief from tension headaches, which seem to originate from the neck?

YES!. 
This is the sole reason why I bought this,  I first saw a neck 'swing' you attach to a door, lay down on the floor and your head is on the swing seat (you dont swing) it looked perfect, wanted to be the person in the picture, but lying down on floor, having space etc. Not practical, then I came across this. Oh I wish I had found it years ago. Not often I rave about anything as everyone is different, but such relief from this, plus it's cheaper at the moment in prime deals!.

Can you lie down when you are wearing it?

I tried but the answer is no, unless it is minimally inflated. Night is the worst time for us neck sufferers - I have tried several expensive neck care pillows, but now simply scrunch up a normal pillow. When we are asleep our muscles relax and fail to support our head properly, butearing a traditional soft collar puts pressure on my larynx and makes me feel sick. So when I wake with worse than usual root symptoms in my hands I wear this inflatable for an hour or two and get good relief. Part of the function is to stop your neck getting into extremes of flexion and extension that worsen the symptoms.

will this help extend the neck a bit?

I use this to relieve arthritis in my neck causing nerve problem in hand.  When blown up, it feels like a neck collar stretching the neck from shoulder to ear. Of course neck is not stretched when not blown up!  Works well for me, recommended by physio.

How small can fold for travelling

Accepted Answer

It folds in half and then in half again if need be, you would easily fit it into a shoulder bag, cabin case etc.  Once you've used it there is a valve to let the air back out so once the air is out it's compact, also you don't need to take the small hand pump with you if you don't want to as it easily be filled with air from from your mouth, like blowing up a balloon.  Hope this helps.
