Jackson Galaxy Air Wand with Toy with feather toy

Good toy! My cat still loves it and it’s probably one of the only things she never got bored of. The string however broke within a couple of months - made a knot to keep using it. It also wraps around itself a lot and you end up spending a bit of time untying it every time you use it - which can be a bit annoying.

My cat has been leaping and bounding around the house trying to catch this toy. As soon as I swung it around a few times she was entranced and desperate to get her teeth into it.She even bravely ascended a shelfing unit to get it down so we could play again.She clearly loves the texture of the toy and hunting it is giving her a great workout.What really struck me howver, is how much mnore fun it is for the human. The wand is telescopic extending to about 3 times its original lenght, however the string is also retractable like a tape measure. This means that even in a small room you can adjust the lenght and really swing the toy around like a bird flying at pace.The feathers rustle and whoosh, and the button to quickly reel in the toy just as the cat was going to pounce adds another fun dimension to play.The only doubt I have is with the durability of the plastic clip used to fasten the toy to the wand (the toy can be switched), but after a few sessions it is looking fine.As ever with cats, you can't guarantee what they will and wont like. But if your cat has enjoyed playing with wands at all then this is a must buy, it allows you to give them a great hunt, and one that can be as much fun for you aswell, its a bit pricey compared to some you will find but the adaptability and build quality make it much better value for money.

So I bought this since it has Jackson Galaxy’s name attached to it and my cat prefers wand toys over others. It finally arrived yesterday after 2 weeks of waiting and upon first impression I was very impressed. It looks like a premium cat toy, offering features I hadn’t yet seen in others such as the retractable string and extendable wand handle. However after just 5 minutes of play the double pleated string gets twisted and knotted, which you have to untangle to a certain extent before you can retract it back in. The next day, one of the feathers have already come loose. I expected more quality and I’m surprised by how quickly this thing falls apart, especially when you see him using it so vigorously on his show. I would still highly recommend as your cat will love it as mine does, it seems to unlock my kittens Hunter mode, he goes crazy for it. Just be prepared for this to not last you very long & since it comes all the way from the US it’s lifespan will most likely be shorter than the delivery time.

The wand is robust and Jackson definitely based it on his knowledge. My cats love it particularly the kitten. My only concern is she played with it so much that the feathers might need replacing sometime.It's very useful if I call her and if she doesn't come straight away, I just wave the wand out the door or up the stairs and she's there following me. So very handy. She loves to play with it even when the rod is resting and she plays with it on her own.

Falls apart. Only retracts to furthest point of extension. Retracts too quickly, loudly and fully, rather than having any control over retraction. Cat scared of it.

My kitten loves this, but after the recoil part broke on 1st.pull it is now just an expensive version of any other want. We still play with it but disappointed it broke almost instantly. Expensive for what it is. I'd expect it to be much more durable for that price.

I love Jackson Galaxy, he's a great guy who loves cats and is determined to make sure cat guardians understand their furbabies and support them achieve Raw Cat.I have two cats: Tiffany (a ground based predator who loves chasing slinky things) and Georges (an air based predator whose attention is captured by winged things). They have lots of catnip toys but nothing like this. I know there's lots of these kinds of toys on Amazon, but I decided to trust the man whose advice has supported me who knew nothing about cats to being a dedicated Cat Mama.The handle is sturdy and wide enough that I (with fibromyalgia) can safely grip it) and the telescopic pole extends easily from here. From the top, a sturdy rope extends with a clip where you can exchange toys.At first glance I was concerned that the thread would break, that my cats would bite the clip and damage their teeth or that the toy would detach. This was not the case. Both my cats spent a few years semi feral before coming to me and are expert hunters, they have not damaged this wand in any way. The thread is incredibly sturdy, despite much chewing; the clip is in a location that is both difficult for them to access and the toy is far more interesting to them and despite looking a little flimsy, is actually very sturdy.My cats love this toy so much (even the ground predator starts swatting at it when it sails by her head) and I have found by swooping the "bird" in their peripheral vision a few times gets them excited and they will happily chase the bird around for ages.Yes, it's a little pricier that the others, but the quality makes it worth it, in my opinion. I personally see no reason to buy any other toy wands as this turns my lazy babies into violent murderers in 0.000001 seconds and they are the true judges of this toy.

I almost always change the review filter on Amazon to 'newest' so I get accurate, non-promoted reviews but didn't on this occasion and regret it. As many of the newer reviews suggest, this product is cheaply made and designed - despite its price tag. We lost a feather within the first 5 minutes of play (15 month Moggies, not large breed cats), the retractable feature is too stiff for cats to pull it out so that's a useless design feature, the weighting is all off (handle and top part are very heavy compared to the very light toy on the end) so the attachment doesn't really land properly, and the clip mechanism for the attachment is extremely flimsy - the end came off multiple times during play. All in all, a very disappointing product. Another example of 'internet famous' people just slapping their name on an inferior product to make money.
