Kenex KSS -300 Digital Kitchen Spoon Scale Review: Nice gadget for measuring small weights - It is a very neat little gadget for measuring small quantities, e.g. dried yeast. A few comments to save the honour of the scale: some reviewers complained that they were unable to weigh anything while holding the scale in their hand, e.g. spooning out flour. However, this is not a flaw of this little gadget, but simply a law of physics. Any scale has to sit on a horizontal surface without moving to measure accurately. Also, it does not need to sit on a raised surface; the spoon does not touch anything if you place the scale on your kitchen worktop. What is slightly annoying however is that the 'Add' function switches itself on after a second or so (one star off for that). However, you only need to press 'Add' when the symbol appears on the little display to continue using it. It is also true that it is not so great for very small quantities (less than 1 gram). The measurement becomes more accurate of you place a little flour into the spoon first, then add the dried yeast. If you want a more accurate scale, I suppose you will have to buy a professional laboratory scale which will set you back about 20 times as much as this one. Review: Brilliant - Easy and accurate

Nice gadget for measuring small weights
It is a very neat little gadget for measuring small quantities, e.g. dried yeast. Poor performer
This item was far too lightweight to last long, difficult to read and of generally poor design

Not bad but far from great
This product isnt bad. It does what it was meant for but has two flaws. First flaw is holding the spoon scale. If you thought you could hold it in your hand and get the weight - forget it. The reading shifts based on the angle held. So to use it you have to place it on a flat, raised surface (like the plastic packing thats in the box), calibrate it in such a position and then use a different spoon to add the thing you are weighting (tea leaves in my case). Makes me wonder what advantage it has over the regular scale. At least a regular one doesnt require the flat surface to be elevated. Second flaw, if you can call it that, is that once you get the amount you were looking for it starts to jump up and down (+/- 0.2 grams). Not worth mentioning really but best to point it out as well.

Does what is expected to do
This digital kitchen-scale-cum-spoon works well - it is sensitive and seems to be measuring quantities consistently. The only slight down-side, which does not however impede the spoon's functioning, is that while measuring, it 'locks itself' a second or so after you stopped altering the weight - I wish it gave you a bit more time as measuring small quantities you tend to be precise and slow when adding. But apart from that it did prove useful, particularly for bread baking.

I love this digital spoon
My last Kitchen scales failed very quickly which was disappointing so I decided to look for a digital spoon, particularly as I wanted to weigh small items around 10g in weight. I am really pleased with my Kenex KSS300. It is neat, light weight and easy to use.It comes with 2 plastic spoons which attach very easily. They are also easy to clean. It can also be used to weigh out larger amounts using several spoonfuls. The larger spoon easily holds about 45g of flour. Kenex KSS300 Digital Kitchen Spoon Scale

Fiddly
A good product, but changing the spoons is a bit fiddly and they are a bit on the flimsy side
