What is the expected life span of the rubber suction bulb on this Hydrometer?

I have had my personal one for over nine years. This is Florida, humidity tend to be high and I clean it after every use. If you neglect it and leave grease or other residues on it the rubber will degrade and will not be able to do its job. It Depends on the care and environment where you operate. It is rubber after all.

Initially I concluded it was not consistent BUT now

I initially wrote this: 'Easy to use but the results are not consistent. If I take three readings from the same cell they will all be different.' BUT MY ENGINEER TELLS ME THAT IF YOU TAKE MULTIPLE READINGS QUICKLY FROM THE SAME CELL YOU GET DIFFERENT RESULTS. SO MAYBE IT IS OKAY.

Bought to replace my normal hydrometer. Easy to read and easy to use and of course made in the USA.

An sich ein gutes Produkt. Es ist gut ablesbar, für meine Zwecke musste ich den Schlauch abändern. Das Gehäuse war jedoch an der Klebung der Gehäusehälften undicht. Das bedeutet, es zieht beim Einsaugen der Säure Luft. Eventuell durch den Transport verursacht, da nur in einer Papiertüte verschickt. Ich hätte das am liebsten reklamiert, aber durch die lange Lieferzeit habe ich mir die Mühe gespart und stattdessen das Gehäuse geklebt. Funktioniert jetzt wie es soll. Entweder besser verarbeiten oder besser verpacken wäre sinnvoll.
