Really pleased with this fan. It replaced one on our home office that was about 20 years old and not very powerful at all. Fitted it with the down pole and despite some comments to the contrary, I found the instructions very clear. Took a while to fit (couple of hours) but nothing was tricky. Just quite a bit to do. Fitting the blades to the motor is a bit awkward and a magnetic screwdriver helps a lot. The fan feels really well made and us very powerful. Think the middle speed will be plenty for most occasions. Be aware there is no bulb with it. It needs an E27 bulb but be aware in needs to be a smallish bulb (not to long or wide) candle bulb should work well. There is a very slight wobble at full speed but that's completely normal. It's fairly quiet too. Overall I'm very happy and would recommend.

Ordered this item to replace an aged white one bought from Argos many years ago. ( served its purpose but very out of date now ) Having recently decorated our bedroom, I wanted a replacement light/fan to complement the new colour scheme and to match the brushed chrome lightswitch and sockets I have fitted. This item was easily fitted matching the wiring configuration that already existed. ( taking a photo with your phone of the wiring before you start is a good idea ) The item itself looks and feels very well made. However, economies have been made with the instructions themselves which are scattered over many pages in different languages. Would have been better written a page for each language. I had problems with the screw threads on the casing that holds the fan/light fitting to the ceiling mount as the supplied bolts wouldn't screw into it as the holes were clogged with paint and burred. A needle file resolved this. Also when fitting the fan blades, the fabric washers supplied had to be forced onto the bolts with pliers before fitting. In all, these issues were unnecessarily time consuming. Overall though, the finished product is worth the effort as it looks very neat and functions very well. Fan motor noise is evident, but I'm sure that will be a small price to pay in keeping cool in the summer.

Fitted this up in a couple of hours but you need to know what you are doing regarding electrics. Screwed into joist but I used larger screws than those provided as plaster board is quite thick. Thought the hardest part would be fitting blades but this was made super easy by using a small bit of blue tack on the end of screwdriver so the screw doesn't drop inside. if you have trouble finding a bulb use this: DIALL EDISON SCREW CAP (E27) 46W HALOGEN BALL LIGHT BULB, PACK OF 3 My biggest tip is first, Read the instructions thoroughly. Then read them again. Thirdly read them again until you are sure you understand them. Great addition to the bedroom in this uncomfortable heat wave.

The small diameter of this fan and its shallow depth from the ceiling made it perfect for my small kitchen. I got the remote control to go with it, and despite the husband's grumbling that we could have just used the pull cords, it was a good purchase. Makes control of fan and light convenient, and I didn't like the idea of tugging on the fan everytime an adjustment was needed. Good quality fan, attractive, very happy with this purchase.

Very good quality for the price and low noise, fixing the blades is a little tricky but overall easy to install.

So far so good. I was surprised how easy it was to install. I planned to install on Sunday, but it arrived Saturday afternoon in the recent heatwave, so an hour later I had it installed. Wiring is straightforward - you hook up live, neutral and earth, and it then has a handy connector that you just plug into the matching socket when you bring the (fairly heavy) fan body up to the mounting plate. There's a handy hook you can use to hang the fan body while you plug in this connector, then just align and rotate to hold in position and then fit two retaining bolts. The biggest job is assembling the six fan blades with three screws, washers and nuts each, then attaching those and screwing in place using a narrow slot in the lowest lighting part to poke your screwdriver through, which is a bit fiddly. The whole thing is a one-person job though. Note also that the E27 light fitting is relatively small so only small E27 bulbs (golf-ball style or small CFLs) will fit (I have struggled to find an LED bulb small enough so far but I'll keep looking). When I first turned it on there was some noise from the fan (50Hz hum) at lowest speed (the fan always starts at speed 3, and additional pulls of the cable cycle through speeds 2, 1, then off, then back to 3 and so on). However, after a few days I've not noticed this again so maybe it's settled in? Overall fan noise for this unit is pretty low. My wife and I do like a nice quiet and dark room to sleep so I checked reviews of many models to find those reported as quiet. It's luck of the draw, no doubt, and checking that the fan blades are carefully assembled and screwed in tightly ensures everything is as balanced as possible. I get no vibration from this unit at all, some expected "whooshing" of the air (which is why I bought the fan! I've read that fans with more blades tend to have less air noise, which is another reason I bought this model), and a small amount of noise from the motor - either a faint hum or low whine. Oddly, the fan speed seems slightly variable, particularly if you have another fan on in the room or the windows open, which perhaps affect the airflow, because it sounds like the fan speeds up slightly on occasion and then slows again a bit later. I used the flush mounting option because I have low ceilings, and I've noticed that most of the air actually blows out sideways rather than down in the middle. I'm tempted to take it down and remount it using the provided extension rod (which lowers the fan by around 4-5 inches). I suspect the flush-mount option is so close to the ceiling that air can't get sucked behind the blades properly. If I give this a go I'll update this review and report mu findings! [EDIT] About a week later I took the plunge, took the fan down, and mounted it again using the supplied extender rod, and the air flow is now *much* better. I've updated the video (Amazon won't let me attach two videos to a review so I had to concatenate them!) showing the appearance and behaviour with both flush mounting and with the extender rod. I strongly believe that in the "flush mounting" configuration there is insufficient space for air to be drawn in above the fan and blown down - the fan is too close to the ceiling, affecting the airflow. The net result is that with flush mounting the air is sort of flung out sideways, with very little down-draft below the fan itself. With the extender rod air can be pulled in behind the fan easily and blown down much more effectively. My fan now provides quite a nice blow of air below it with a wide cone-like profile.

FAN TASTIC*** this is our 4th Westinghouse fan brilliant lovely and a good investment, we have one that is 20yrs old in one of the bedrooms they last and last, don't buy cheap makes if you want durability. This was for little girls bedroom 5m x 4m and is great in the summer when you cant have windows open due to noise and insects. Didnt buy with remotes as they are a bit delicate and expensive if one falls down the side of your bedside cabinet!

I have paid a qualified electrician to put the fan/light up only to find the fan works but the light does not. So it would be expensive to have it taken down and replaced so I am stuck with just a fan and no central light, not good

Mi familia tenia muy poco fe en el. Pensaban que no sirve para nada pero yo tenia mucho empeño y ganas en vez de comprar un ventilador normal poner una lampara ventilador: 1) ganas el espacio 2) espanta las moscas y mosquitos (no les gusta el viento) 3) mueve el aire (el habitacion de mi hijo es muy pequeño y lo necesitamos igual para el verano que para el invierno) 4) refresca :) Montaje no era muy complicado todo baatante facil. De muy buena calidad. Venian tornillos de repuesto. Primero hemos montado sin la vara para que sea mas apegado al techo y puedo decir que no hemos notado mucho la diferencia era como mas decepcionante. Pero luego al pasar dos semans decidimos poner la vara y alli cambio la cosa. Asi si. Por que las alas cojen mas aire y empujan con mas fuerza. Es bastante silencioso y no se mueve la lampara al estar en el funcionamiento. Muy firme. Supongo que es cuestion si lo montas bien o no. Por que es de muy buena calidad y en veedad no le falta ni una pieza. Definitivamente hemos quedado muy contentos. Volvere a comprar pero esta vez uno mas grande para el salon y otro para dormitorio grande.

Très bon produit , finition impeccable . Le montage peut prendre un peu de temps . Je n'ai pas utilisé les chevilles fournies mais des chevilles molly , le ventilateur pèse 15kg quand même autant qu'il soit bien fixé . J'ai pris l'option télécommande , très simple à installer car tout est prévu pour . Le ventilateur est très silencieux , en vitesse la plus faible il est inaudible et brasse suffisamment de vent . Monté avec une ampoule classique à filament l'éclairage est très bon , avec la télécommande la fonction dimmable est pratique pour régler l'intensité de lumière . Je recommande ce produit !

Ich habe diesen Ventilator für unsere Homeoffice gekauft, dort haben wir einen Sichtgiebel und deshalb viel Platz für einen Deckenventilator, der im Sommer auch wirklich notwendig ist. Ich habe mich für die Montage mit der Zwischenstange entschieden, deshalb kann ich auch nur dazu etwas berichten. Die Aufbauanleitung ist sehr gut und verständlich. Besonders gut finde ich bei diesem Ventilator die Umsetzung des Stromanschlusses. Als erstes wird eine Deckenplatte angeschraubt, an dieser befindet sich eine Lüsterklemme mit den Anschlüssen für den Strom aus der Decke. Der Ventilator kann nach der Vormontage der Zwischenstange dann einfach in die Deckenplatte eingehängt werden und die "Verkabelung" erfolgt dann nur mit zwei Steckverbindern. Das erspart lästiges Halten und Fieseln, wie es bei manch anderem Deckenventilator der Fall ist. Die Montage war für mich ohne Probleme alleine möglich. Das Anschrauben der Rotorblätter sollte man mMn. machen, bevor man den Ventilator an die Decke hängt, dann geht es deutlich einfacher. Die Verarbeitung und Qualität der Bauteile ist sehr hochwertig. Mir ist jetzt nichts zu beanstandendes aufgefallen. Zur Funktion: Der Ventilator hat 3 verschiedene Geschwindigkeitsstufen (mit einem Westinghouse Wandschalter sogar 4, aber Achtung, hierfür muss eine weitere Litze von Schalter zum Ventilator geführt werden). Er erfüllt seinen Zweck sehr gut und auch verhältnismäßig leise. Auf der höchsten Stufe ist er natürlich wahrnehmbar, was mich aber nicht stört. Die Zugketten wären auch für unseren Raum (Deckenhöhe im Sichtgiebel etwa 3m) ausreichend und man hätte auch hiermit den Ventilator ohne probleme steuern können. Design: Schlicht und Modern, also auch hier keine Beanstandung. Alles in Allem ein sehr guter Deckenventilator, der einem vor allem bei der Montage so manchen Ärger und Muskelschmerzen wegen "Über-Kopf-Arbeiten" erspart. Hat mich überzeugt!
