I bought this shoe after breaking the long bone in my middle toe. The staff at A&E were great - they got my toe back straight(ish) and secured it in place with sticking bandage and sent me home on crutches.I could not put my foot to the floor due to the pain and had three children under 4 to look after so I found this. It arrived the next day and was a instant success. I could now get my foot on the floor with the crutches and by the end of the first week hobble around the house with no crutches. The shoe tips your toes upwards so no pressure/weight is on them whilst still allowing you to put weight through your heal and walk without further aids. The square toe has fully protected my injury for further bangs/knocks and providing I wear a shoe on the other foot with a built up heal I am now able to move around at almost full speed with minimal discomfort. It is well constructed with a non-slip patterned sole. It is very adjustible and so far showing no signs of ware and tear. With a black boot on the other foot is is also fairly discreet so I don't have to keep explaining to other what I've done to my foot! After I've healed up I'm going to try washing through the machine and keeping for the future just in case I do this again!I don't normally write reviews but wanted to reassure others suffering a similar fate that this could make a difference and is worth the outlay!

Brillant for my broken toe
I broke a toe for the 4th or 5th time in my life (I'm accident-prone). Each time previously, I've gone to A&E who just told me to take paracetamol and use crutches. In light of Covid-19, I decided to self-treat at home with ice, elevation, rest and the boot - I knew full well from previous experience that I'd fractured it from the bruising and pain, so just bought this boot to get around the house and dog training with. Stopped walking from from hurting, even with a trip to the sea-side.Worked brilliantly - took all the pressure off my broken 2nd toe next to my big toe, once I'd buddy strapped it (loosely) with Micropore tape. Took 7-8 weeks to heal and is now straight and has full-function back. Have kept the boot for the next time I have a break. ;PAs it is quite high - I used mine with a Fit-Flop sandal on the other foot.Would highly recommend.

Broken Big Toe
I got this as I have broken my big toe. I was using crutches and couldn't walk anywhere without them! It was quite difficult around the house. So I got this shoe, and it's a godsend as I have been walking around the house and was able to do bits and Bob's, rather than just sitting in a chair. The only thing I would say it sits quite close to the toe bend. I dont know if lower or higher would be better but I'm a size 8 female so that's where it sits. But I am so happy to be able to walk around, thankyou!

A great help with walking.
A brilliant product for painful/broken toes. It's lightweight and easy to put on and take off. Makes walking more comfortable, but it's important to accommodate the difference in shoe/boot heel height for both feet, otherwise you might experience undue leg, hip or low backache after prolonged walking. Good value for keeping mobile.

The only shoe that allowed me walking with a broken toe!
This shoe is really good and it is the only show that allowed me walking after I broke my middle toe. NHS didn't give me anything, they said I could walk within my pain range but it was impossible for me to walk on a normal shoe. I found this and it helped a lot. The height difference is considerable and I haven't found a suitable shoe to wear on the other foot so this cause some back pain and reduces the amount of time I can walk with this shoe. I will keep looking. But the shoe itself is the only one I found in the Uk that is good for broken toes. Recommended

Not that easy to walk in
I bought this during a heat wave as I thought it would be cooler and more comfortable to wear than the boot that the NHS provided. Unfortunately as the sole is so deep and with the tilt it really does make it difficult to walk any distance - its ok for hobbling round the house in but that's about it. The NHS boot with its curved base is much easier to walk in. I'm a UK female size 8 and with the plaster on the lower part of my foot and big toe it just about fits. I did find it useful to wear in the shower as it has a rubber sole and keeps the foot above any water that gathers.

Did not work for me. Put ankle at such an angle that I could not walk anyway.
The shoe is well made and sturdy. I bought it to help with a broken toe, but I could not walk with the shoe on because it put my ankle an a very uncomfortable angle and made my leg so much longer than than the other one, so unless you have a really high platform shoe to put your good foot in you will find it very difficult to walk. This defeats the purpose.
