Once learned, never forgotten.
Another brilliant book for my collection. I have the mind mapping book from Tony Buzan too. He has a simple but effective way of explaining his methods in both books, but this one I particularly like because it covers all aspects of memory and the effectiveness in the way he writes is neither patronising nor assuming laziness, but still makes understanding how your memory works enough to make you want to be amazing. I have done some of the exercises now and going back to the start again I have bettered myself since putting his advice into practice.

A Thought-Provoking Read – Testing My Limits and Helping Me Grow
I haven’t quite finished The Memory Book by Tony Buzan yet, but I wanted to share my experience so far because it’s already made a real impact on me. I came to this book hoping to improve my memory and mental clarity. Like many others, I struggle with my concentration due to depression, anxiety, and PTSD. These challenges often leave me feeling overwhelmed, forgetful, and mentally drained. I was looking for something that could genuinely help me train my mind and regain some control over my thought processes – and this book has been a great start. Challenging but Rewarding: I’ll be honest – it wasn’t easy at the beginning. With my memory already feeling unreliable, some of the exercises and techniques felt quite tough. But that’s exactly why I stuck with it. The book pushes you to think in different ways, encouraging you to tap into your brain’s potential. It’s like a mental workout, and while it’s been challenging, I can already see small improvements. It’s teaching me to compartmentalize information better and handle daily tasks with more clarity. Practical and Interactive: This isn’t just a book you read passively – it’s highly interactive. There are questions, exercises, and self-tests throughout, designed to help you apply the techniques immediately. I’m still working through them, but it feels like I’m actively building new memory habits rather than just absorbing theory. That hands-on approach has been a huge plus for me. Design and Quality: While the cover design is quite plain and nothing particularly eye-catching, that didn’t bother me. I chose this book based on a recommendation, and I’m glad I focused on the content rather than the aesthetics. The book is a comfortable size to hold, and the pages are smooth and well-finished, with plenty of colorful images and visual aids inside that help break up the text and reinforce the memory techniques. It’s a well-structured 232 pages, and the layout is clear and easy to follow, which is especially helpful if you struggle with focus like I do. Early Results: Although I’m still working through the book, I can already see subtle changes in how I approach remembering things. I feel like I’m building a toolkit for my mind, and that’s been empowering. It’s giving me hope that I can regain some mental control, despite my daily struggles with mental health. Final Thoughts (So Far): If you’re looking for a practical, engaging guide to improving your memory, I’d highly recommend this book, especially if you’ve faced concentration issues like me. It’s not an instant fix, and it requires effort and patience, but it’s a valuable resource that’s already started to help me retrain my brain. 4.5 Stars – A mentally rewarding challenge!

The Memory Book
This book is not a read once only book. It is more like a study book with really useful memory techniques to learn. It is very easy to read, my only criticism is that I would have liked more examples of how to put it into play. Thanks Tony

the methods work and you get some insight into how people like Derren Brown and Paul Daniels do amazing memory feats ...
Tony Buzan goes through the methods and techniques to improve one's memory for almost everything. It is entertaining, the methods work and you get some insight into how people like Derren Brown and Paul Daniels do amazing memory feats on stage although, I hasten to add, that no mention of them is made in the book - I am just assuming that their systems are similar. I should imagine that it would take a lot of effort to successfully employ the methods he writes about, but learning is never that easy, and it does not alter the fact that his methods do work. My main complaint is that much of this book is a repeat of a previous publication, "Use Your Memory" (revised addition 1989) with the addition of an extra part expanding upon the "Major system". If it was another revised addition to that book, I would have no cause for complaint - but it is not. It claims to be a completely new publication. If it is your only purchase of one of his memory books, then it is well worth the cash. However, as I have three of his books, and two of them are virtually the same, I am not risking spending several pounds on another.

Like finding the keys that unlock a major secret
This book details some incredibly powerful techniques, which I used to remember some ridiculously complex nuclear physics formulae. It isn't just for students because there are other methods for remembering names and lists, but the techniques for visualising numbers were like finding the keys that unlock a major secret, a secret that can be the difference between success and failure. It takes some effort and practice, but the rewards are potentially huge and very satisfying.

An Excellent and Thorough Introduction and an Inspiring Refresher
Whether this is your first book on memory techniques or your tenth, Buzan likely has something to offer that you haven’t encountered elsewhere. This is an excellent book, well written and packed with truly useful information for remembering “anything you want,” just like the subtitle says. Although this is probably the eighth or so book on memory that I’ve read recently, I nevertheless found Buzan’s approach inspiring and informative. And, despite some slightly snarky comments I’d encountered about Buzan in other books, I didn’t find his style off-putting or overly egotistical. Yes, he trademarked his name. And of course he plugs Mind Maps, a technique he created and is justifiably proud of. But as they say: It isn’t bragging if you’ve done it. And Buzan *has* done it. With the guidance of his book, you can too.

Worth every penny!
Invest your money and time in a self development booK like this instead of a fiction. I was able to crack my state civil service Exam thanks to this book.
