Impressive CD Collection
I have to admit that I had taken little interest in the Motors despite having enjoyed Ducks Deluxe gigs at every opportunity during the London Pub-Rock Boom of the early 70s. I was conscious that after Nick Garvey and Andy McMasters left the band they had collaborated and formed the Motors, but having departed the London scene myself I took little notice until the Peel Sessions in 1977. I didn't record these at the time and was very pleased to see that they comprise the forth CD in this set. They are well-worth a listen. This collection comprises the three studio albums that the Motors released plus the CD mentioned above and a quite detailed booklet. I had never owned any of these records or in fact heard many of the tracks until I purchased "The Virgin Years" and was very impressed with the musical diversity. The first two albums feature the line-up Nick Garvey, Andy McMasters, Bram Tchaikovsky with Ricky Slaughter (drums) and the Third (and final) studio album Nick and Andy with session musicians (after Bram's departure). The content ranges from classic Pub Rock through New Wave to something far beyond yet still recognizable.Nick and Andy were both talented musicians and prolific songwriters and like Bram and Ricky impressive and experienced 'live giggers' who could transfer the energy into studio recordings. If you only know about the Motors via "Airport" enjoy this collection to see just how pub rockers progressed and diversified in that brief era before "big-bucks music industry sound-alike" wrestled back control.

Buy and enjoy!
Excellent collection of a severely underrated band. I've had all of these albums at one time or another but never the At the BBC tracks, and never all in the same collection. Like most people my Motors experience started with Airport, although I do remember hearing The Day I Found A Fiver on Radio 1 back in 1977, but sadly I never bought it. The first two albums are excellent, Tenement Steps is a massive step in a slightly different direction which mostly went underappreciated at the time, but is also a superb album. The BBC tracks are just reinforcement of the band's live playing abilities. If you thought the Motors were one (or two, if you include Forget About You, which you should) then this will show you more of their undisputed talents.

THE ULTIMATE MOTORS COLLECTION AT A GREAT PRICE
wow i figured i had everything about 10 years back when i got the motors catlog on captain oi w/ all the bonus tracks, anyway here it is again in a nice clam shell box with mini lp replicas of each original lp with remastering that sounds flawless and have made the classic records sound better then ever!!!!, if you where a motors fan back in the day GET THIS you will love it, also this comes with a nice booklet with great liner notes from one of record collectors own, anyway these guys where a great band for there time but always seemed to end up on tour supporting acts that did not fit there genre especially here in the states, in the late 70s they where here opening for bands like UFO, KISS and others in the hard rock genre at that time, the motors where a very unique band and ive been a fan now since 1980, anyway this was a pleasant addition to my collection and id say in this box we have about everything the motors recorded between 1977 and 1981, i found the first 3 albums in japan about 10 years ago and it was a thrill as i never knew they even came out in japan..........................
