I love this clock! It is very different from any other time piece and is so decorative; stunning; eye-catching; and most of all, dependable.We live in a hurricane prone area, and this is the main reason for this purchase. With frequent loss of powers due to inclement weather, we needed a battery operated, dependable time piece, and behold, it comes with many other great qualities.When seasonal anomalies—such as, not being certain when or where power outages will occur, having a backup time piece is imperative, and depending on cell phone systems, which has proven to be negatively affected as well, this will help bridge at least, the time problem.Likewise, knowing what time it is can actually be the difference between missing important aid assistance, or knowing when power is expected to be restored—and if you live where outages are often frequent due to weather, you know the importance of keeping an accurate account of time, to police your own home, to prevent an overload on breakers, or when to head out as necessary for other important deadlines.I can’t stress how important a battery operated clock and radio are during such anomalies, when your area is prone to such weather related conditions.This clock has performed beyond what I expected, especially after reviewing some of the posted reviews. Many of the negative ones were more concern about the tiles that the numbers are stenciled on, or the fact that it has a short or long extension rod. None of which is important to me.So, if you are so concerned about quality, aesthetics, or rods, invest in a hundred dollar clock that will suit your persona, because, unless your purchase just don’t work, you have nothing to complain about if this clock is doing it’s part, keeping time accurately.An excellent product and most of all, it accurately keeps time! There is a short video attached that shows it as it is working, and the one I ordered, did come with a telescoping rod, thanks!

We have loved this clock. It's a bit noisy as others have said, but ours sits in the living room. It's not a problem for us.

This is the best clock I've ever had. It has large contrasting easy to see numbers on it, which is great for me because of my impaired eyesight.The click when the minute changes, and slightly louder click when the hour changes helps me to keep track of time, too. I'm not sure what the other reviews are talking about with the loud noises. The clock I received makes a very soft whirring noise, but it's barely noticeable, even when the room is completely quiet. The only drawback to this purchase was having to wait two weeks on shipping from China. It gets lots of compliments!

First one I received was defective - but a replacement was sent and it is perfect!
