These are the first plants I’ve ever grown. One is already blooming; the others will bloom shortly. This was laborious but so fun to do. I planted these the first or second week of June (kind of late), but they’re looking so pretty. This heatwave has been watering way more often than necessary, but it’s worth seeing the results. Beware of the rabbits and grasshoppers/locusts that’s come through to eat these. Use natural garlic power, cayenne pepper, and water mixed in a spray bottle and spray all around the soil and surrounding areas to keep the rabbits away. Use sevin dust for the locusts until they’re about to start blooming then cease using sevin dust immediately for the pollinators to come and help make the sunflowers bloom more.

I had to start them planting indoors in a tall biodegradable container (tp roll) because the birds found all of the seeds that were planted directly. They all sprouted readily. Don't try to replant, they'll die immediately

Had a fantastic germination rate, but then the slugs ate them all (not the fault of the seeds, just be aware). Will try again once I have defensive measures in place.

My seeds were very dry and only a couple sprouted.
