A reliable workhorse, powerful yet not too noisy.
Has worked like a dream since we bought it in 2016. It's amazing how much water it pulls out of the air/house from smart mode.A 4bed semi in NW England; placed in empty front main bedroom. On first use in Oct 2016 was on for two days straight (needed emptying three times), then it went into standby and only came on occasionally through the week. Kept us moisture free the whole winter. Now a year later, it's on its second winter with us. House heats up more quickly with moisture gone and strips of condensation at bottom of windows all over the house are largely eradicated, even with this static upstairs. This autumn we've started using the laundry drying mode and closing it in a room with damp washing. Again, works a treat.Hard to find any negative aspects. Recessed fingerholes for carrying are a bit shallow. Noise wise you could sleep with it on, but you're definately going to hear it if you're in the same room. It works so well we have to empty it every two days, but it has a cutout and warning light. Obv you could plumb it in to a drain too.Track prices as we got a good Amazon deal and only paid about £145 including delivery.MAY 2020 UPDATE: Its been through its fourth winter with us and now sits on the first floor landing. It draws water from over the house as ever and needs emptying roughly once a week.It remains a reliable workhorse that does what it's meant to, well. Four winters and counting.OCT 2023 UPDATE: Heading into its 7th winter with us and still working as well as it ever did. The first run of the season always sees it stay on for three or four days straight (obvs being emptied regularly), then it goes into standby until moisture levels rise. We've used it on higher mode to dry clothes inside too. Would definitely buy Ebac again.

jolly good dehumidifier (so far, anyway!) - great upgrade from earlier Ebac
i've had to have a dehumidifier running constantly in the house i rent, for about ten years. i've stuck with Ebac - my outgoing one, a 2850e has been good but developed a nasty noise when the compressor turns off. enough to wake me. as a neighbour needs with a rug selling business had a need for keeping them dry - i've donated it and used the excuse to upgrade. The reason i have stuck with Ebac? well there are three. it is a British Manufacturer, supporting UK economic growth. their units have never let me down and customer service has always been good (spare parts are available for DIY repair, there's also a collect and repair service and a trade in option). finally - these are designed for our bonkers climate. makes sense to me.on the face of it, the new one extracts more and uses less electricity to do so. it has a fancy (quite bright, which might be a consideration depending where you site the thing) display. it doesn't have the "eco" mode that my old one offered - hopefully SMART has got smarter.it is quieter than the old one. odd noise, actually, i keep thinking i've left the gas on on the hob. i wouldn't want it in the bedroom (quoted noise level is 46dB which is similar to a louder end fridge). it's not an offensive noise.i didn't want to buy from Amazon - but Ebac could not/ would not get anywhere near the price offered. and next day delivery was as promised, all arrived safely.

Great Smart Humidity Control
First I would like to state the level of humidity in my area; I live 5 minutes away from the sea, so median humidity level is 75% in summer and 85% in winter. This is our first dehumidifier and out of the box (after 4 hours standing upright) the Ebac did the job it promised; started in the SMART mode and in 1 day the apartment (3 bed rooms) was already feeling better (even our hands where feeling dry!) as it takes a huge amount of water from the air. When the unit is dehumidifying the noise it makes is not so loud but not so quite either (like an old fridge!).Why did I give it 2 stars? As per the specifications the Ebac comes with and the documentation we read from the Ebac site, the unit should shuts off (stops) if the water level in the tank is full, so to this we left the unit running the whole night (1st night). However, this did not happen as we had a water puddle on our wooden parquet, the front water tank compartment door was open (ajar) and the dehumidifier was still working. I soon contacted Ebac.com support and we agreed that I should give it another try since I could have not placed the tank in correctly.Yesterday the same happened again, another puddle and the dehumidifier was still on, however, this time the front compartment door was closed.Another problem that this unit has the leakage of water from the water level flow sensor in the same tank when removing the tank.Today I will return the item to Amazon and we will order another the same one from Amazon again. I will update my review again in couple of weeks, hopefully, this time it will be positive.Hope the above help.UPDATE - 2017-02-20=================We received the new Ebac from Amazon, same model (3850e) and we compared them next to each other and we found that the front door where the water container is, in the old unit is 0.5cm lower, hence it will not locking as it should and with the vibrations it was opening up.The new Ebac 3850e has been working for 3 days non-stop and since now we had no spillages nor even front door issues. On the other hand, the performance is really good and the SMART functionality leaves us with changing the review from 2 to 4.I have attached a photo of the 2 Ebac's 3850e (old and new one) side by side so that you can see the issue with the door compartment.Hope the above helps!

Removes condensation well
I brought this dehumidifier as I had a high level of condensation so lots of dampness in my room and I had mold growing. My room is quite small so this dehumidifier works well. Since using this the mold is not growing anymore which is very important for ones health. My biggest criticism is that it is very noisy. I like the smart mode the best because it stops when needed. The 21 litre tank is just right lots of water was collected. Brought this on April 2022 and reviewing it in December 2022. It is a heavy and bulky item as seen in other people images. I paid £305 for the Style Name: 3000 Series. I think the asking price is too high and I expect it to work for a few years.
