It Works - My 3D Printer Fears no More!
It works .. yes I bought it so that if there were a glitch, brown out, voltage variation/surge, total drop etc. (engage embarrassment factor) my (cough) .... (Splutter) ... 3D Printer would just keep going (Damn.. said it...) Trust me.. if you are 12 hours into a 14 hour print ... well you get it (maybe) .. so it works ... it looks fine... ya know .. for an ups ... Happy

Worse than not having a UPS
Bought to keep pump running on aquarium in case of powercut. After the first day of use I discovered it had turned itself off, stayed off, and no longer worked, despite there not having been any powercut. Worse than not having a UPS. Returned it.

Powercool Smart UPS not so smart
I used to work in 24x7 mainframe computer operations where a UPS is essential to keep everything up until the generators kick in. Although I managed perfectly well without a UPS on my home PC systems for years I have built up a sizeable collection of digital photos which I back up to external hard drives regularly. The only loophole occured when uploading my snaps to the PC and editing them so the Smart UPS fitted the bill with about 10 minutes uptime to tidy everything up in the event of a power outage. For a year everything seemed ok until I suffered two or three losses of power to the PC when the UPS suddenly switched off while everything else in the house continued to work! The UPS logs seem to indicate power surges at random interevals but nothing else is affected. I'm currently working on mains power with the UPS disconnected. Draw your own conclusions.

UPS, works
Tested in practice in brief outage (switching off mains for an unconnected reason). Works as required, not much more to say.
