Morphy Richards Chroma 971518 Square Kitchen Bin with Infrared Motion Sensor Technology, 50 Litre Capacity, Cream

I have had this product for about a month now and it has proved to be even better than expected. It arrived promptly and with no issue, in a very well packaged parcel. Was easy and simple to assemble with clear instructions. It requires a few AA batteries but these are standard and easy to replace, when the time comes. Looks great and because of its shape, is extremely handy for narrow spaces. Replacing the bin bag is also very straightforward - just lift the lid, remove the bag holder and replace the bag. The bag holder ring is not that sturdy and will not hold heavy weights but so far it has worked fine for our normal bin liner. The opening mechanism works very well. It can be quite sensitive so will open if something is waved over it unintentionally. Therefore, locate the bin in an area where this would be less likely to happen. All in all, a great product at a very good price.

The media could not be loaded.  This bin is sooo lovely . The only thing is the lid could be a tad better quality as it’s quiet flimsy . Having said that I would highly recommend this as it’s amazing for the price and as you can see by the video I love it 😂

Does exactly what it says in the title. Good sized bin, sensor works well, only downside is it automatically closes after about five seconds - a bit annoying if you’re scraping a plate and it’s a bit fiddly. It isn’t a heavy lid so at most it taps your hand gently as it closes and it stops if there’s any resistance but I’d expected to need to wave over the sensor again to close the lid, or get a bit longer before it automatically closed. Not the end of the world and doesn’t affect its use negatively at all.Some questions were asked about opening it without the sensor working - there’s a little lip in the lid so it’s easy to pull up manually.

On paper it seems good, but its just not a high quality product & not really fit for purpose.Firstly : the bin lid opening mechanism is not water tight, so any spillage that might happen on the top of the bin can get into the internal workings.This also makes it very fiddly to clean properly.Secondly : The battery compartment is on the underside, and the lid to that can fall off, depositing your batteries helpfully in the rubbish. Leading to a lot of smelly hands after fishing them out, or you could just leave them and cause a health hazard at the local landfill.C: The auto-opening mechanism can sometimes trigger because of light changes in the room, or a misaligned bin bag which can be a bit unsettling, but it does let a nice scent of rubbish out into the kitchen periodically. So that's nice.It also freaks out the dog and sets them barking, so if you like that, this might be the bin for you!An additional handy feature is that when opening automatically, it manages to open just long enough to be disconcerting for quick use.You have to stand there waiting to see if it will close on its own this time or just sit open letting the flies breed.Strangely, that same amount of time is just short enough that it closes on your hands while you are scooping leftovers into the bin, soiling the lid, your hands and making using the bin a real "takeshi's castle" scenario.Its great for increasing your stress levels should you not have enough problems right now.I tried to like this bin, but it seems like it just doesn't want to exist and is constantly trying to get back to the landfill.On an even more basic level, it's also quite difficult to remove the bag after its full due to an annoying internal lip on the top, which frequently catches on the bag & enthusiastically rips it open as you lift.This deposits all the rubbish down onto the bottom of the unlined innards, which have "handy vented openings" on the base, right onto to the floor, leading to a lot of extra fun cleaning up and a lot of general swearing around the house.Perfect for when you are trying to catch the binman.All in all, i have to say, I really expected a lot more for the money, as it's not exactly cheap, but it doesn't seem to perform any of the basic functions a bin needs to in order to be fit for use.After the lid finally failed a few months ago, it turns out the manufacturers online warranty service has also been up the spout for ages, so they do not receive any support requests, nor did they get the extended warranty registration.In short, they will not replace it, so it's in the bin for this tip sadly... or as i write all this out, I should say... happily. I guess my Stockholm syndrome is wearing off.Plus points. It looked quite nice in the box, and then again, in the tip. All the intervening moments are best forgotten as some sort of bad relationship.My misses is now over the moon with a bog standard pedal replacement... from another manufacturer.I have to concede it was a grievous mistake buying this contraption, and I will now hear about it gleefully for the foreseeable future, which i suppose only fair.Bin Fooled once, never again.

Lovely chrome finish. Bags with bin are fab. Lid works well. Would buy again

The build quality is decent, although the cover is a bit loose. The sensor lid works well, actually a bit too well. The fact that the sensor is installed horizontally, anything moves in front of it within 30cm will trigger it. It's impossible to walk in front of it without activating it and opening the lid. If your kitchen is big enough that you can leave it in a corner where you would never go near unless you are throwing things in the bin, you will be fine, but not for me. Returned for refund.

Der Mülleimer erfüllt all unsere Erwartungen.Damit man den Rand des Beutels außen nicht sieht, habe ich den Beutelrand um denschwarzen Ring gelegt und nach innen in den Eimer gesteckt.So sieht man auch den hübschen verchromten Außenring.

Estoy intentando ponerme en contacto con el vendedor y no se como, por ello escribo por aquí a ver si lo ve. Compre este cubo de basura en Octubre del 2020, iba bien hasta hoy que dejo de funcionar. Se enciende el sensor pero no abre ni hace nada, evidentemente cambié las pilas y nada. Para ver que solución da, ya que yo tenía un cubo viejo con sensor también de hace 10 años y seguía funcionando perfectamente, lo cambié porque por fuera estaba deteriorado. Y este unos meses y se acabó.... espero que el señor vendedor me dé una solución.

The media could not be loaded.  A me è arrivato il pattume che è illustrato nella foto del prodotto ma senza i tasti per aprirlo manualmente.Preso da Amazon wharehouse come USATO COME NUOVO e pagato 35 euro anziché 60In effetti la pattumiera è nuova, nessun graffio, nessun problema, molto bello, con ancora il profumo di nuovo.Esteticamente si presenta molto bene, si adatta a tanti tipi di arredamento, è colore crema lucido nella parte del corpo, la parte esterna del coperchio è a specchio mentre il coperchio è colore crema opaco.Sembra essere molto resistente, misura 88 cm di altezza e 32 cm di larghezza, mentre la bocca interna in cui entrano i rifiuti misura 28,5 x 15 cmHa una capienza di 50 litri.Si mette il sacco, si appoggia la ghiera ferma sacco e si monta il coperchio.Come ho detto prima e come vedrete nel video, mi è arrivato quello senza tasti (nella descrizione prodotto è indicato che ci sono i tasti per aprire e chiudere oltre ad avere l apertura con sensore)Non è un gran problema la mancanza dei tasti perché si apre tranquillamente anche a mano.Il sensore funziona molto bene, si apre quando si è a una distanza di circa 10 cm, resta aperto 5 secondi e si richiude.Nel caso si voglia lasciarlo aperto di più si deve posizionare la mano davanti al sensore.Il sensore funziona grazie a 4 pile nonincluse.Io lo trovo veramente comodo.Prima avevo una pattumiera con pedale , tra l altra più bassa e avevo il problema dei cani che riuscivano ad aprire il coperchio e bucavano il sacco da sotto.Con questa pattumiera ho risolto, non riescono ad aprirla, è alta e quindi non ci arrivano, inoltre sotto è chiusa quindi niente sacco da rompere.L unica nota negativa sono i sacchi, per questa pattumiera occorrono sacchi alti 88 cm e in giro non ne ho trovati, l unica soluzione è comprarli dallo stesso produttore della pattumiera.Ho risolto prendendo sacchi leggermente più bassi e posizionando un legno in fondo al pattume così da fare spessore.Nel complesso il prodotto ottimo!28,5*1532*88
