but with its flaws its a very interesting and fun thing to build and put on a shelf or ...
Extremely finicky but well worth your time. the detail is of a high standard. although I will say that in some places it is very fragile, particularly with the pilot... when I was putting it together I accidentally snapped off the head, also it is smaller than I thought it would be and the tabs are also extremely small, and often hard to fold down without buckling the whole thing. but with its flaws its a very interesting and fun thing to build and put on a shelf or a desk or any other way of displaying it you like.

Detailed little model
Fantastic product if you're a Star Wars fan. Though be warned: it's not easy to bend and shape the sheath metal into the exact shape you want. Making cylindrical shapes is particularly difficult. Having said that, it's easy to waste a couple of hours just focusing on constructing this lovingly detailed X-Wing. Despite the little imperfections in the end (I messed up a couple of bends), I still love it. Here's some tips: 1) Have some tools to help make this. Using just your fingers is a road to frustration. 2) Make sure you scrutinize the instructions when constructing, particularly for the wings because it's harder than you think to figure out which side is up. 3) Enjoy! Might I suggest playing some Star Wars music in the background while doing this

Fun to make and looks good on show
Enjoyed building this, with right tools and patience it’s not too hard but still challenging to make it fun. Might not be ideal for children as it’s delicate.

he was still able to complete enough of it so that it still looked good.
More difficult than the others and a few pieces broke on assembly. This was my husband 3rd metal earth model so he already had a fair bit of practice. Luckily, despite the broken pieces. he was still able to complete enough of it so that it still looked good.

Small but looks good... a bit of a pain to put together
As noted by others... this is very fiddly. I've made my fair share of airfix and gundam models over the years (cool, I know) but this really takes the cake. I was doing really well until I got to the R2 unit that sits in the top, which is just ridiculous. They really could have found a better way to do this section - it's bizarrely held in place on the grid at two points despite being one of the smallest pieces, which makes it a nightmare to get out without breaking. After faffing around trying to bend it into shape, it eventually did break - so now my X-Wing doesn't have an R2 in the back. It's not a big deal its just a shame, I've never broken something on a model before so as someone with experience I was a bit disappointed that this happened. I think if this is your first time making something like this, just be very slow and very very careful. The finished product is small but looks really great. I'll give it 4 stars because the challenge is part of the fun too.

Great model, and a great challenge
Possibly the most difficult of the Metal Works models (I began with the Star Destroyer, then the Millenium Falcon) but if you try simpler models first you'll learn all the tricks and skills to tackle this. Looks great, though you have to be careful not to bend the blasters as they're simple a 2d strip of metal.

Looks great
Fantastic product, you do have to be careful as it is fragile to put together so you can't be heavy handed. This will be my 4th Metal earth figure that i have put together and I will be buying more.

Love these so far! 2nd one in ^^
So much fun for me. This is only my 2nd go at something like this, R2D2 was my 1st, who I loved to build. Still have 2 more to do and will be buying more once they're done. If you feel like you need to buy tools, I'd say no need, just raid the tool box. All kinds of things you can use in there. Though I'd say buy some nail clippers ( I have a pic of the ones i use on my R2D2 review) I'll put a pic up of how this guy turned out.

These Metal Earth models are fun to assemble. This one looks particularly good. If you've done others, you have a pretty good idea what is entailed. A couple of comments specific to this one: - There are a few parts that are easily damaged during removal from the metal sheets. In particular the frame around the cockpit and the little R2 unit that sits behind it. I highly recommend getting a set of flush cutting micro-shears to snip the parts out rather than flexing them out. I recommend these: Xuron 170-II Micro-Shear Flush Cutter . - There are quite a few cylinders to roll. I found it best to roll these around something of the desired diameter. I used a set of drill bits. - I also found small pliers come in handy. These worked well for me: Beadalon Slim Chain Nose Pliers for Jewelry Making and Beadalon Slim Bent Chain Nose Pliers for Jewelry Making

Spettacolare!
