ARK: Survival Evolved - Xbox One

Perfect Xmas gift.

My kids and I spend hours playing on this building and wrangling dinosaurs. They find this much better than Minecraft as there are so many ways to customize your character and build up the dinos that you tame into pets. My son wanted this for Christmas after watching tons of youtube streamers playing and he needed to try it. After watching him play, I've gotten into it. While I dont play online because i like building and crafting without other players messing with my things, you can play a split screen with one other player and achieve goals together. Large variety of game play styles and limited gore make this a great option for those that don't necessarily care for Minecraft or feel that its played out.

I bought this game for my husband's birthday. He absolutely loves it! It's very challenging and exciting. The graphics are beautifully done. Who wouldn't want to train and ride dinosaurs while you strive to thrive in the Jurassic world. It's a must-play game for any survival enthusiast. From creating clothing to building shelters to growing and scavenging for food, it's an intensely exciting adventure.

I had a lot of good times with this game. My and everyone's main complaint is the glitches that they never fix. But they always come out with new updates and extra cool stuff to tease you. Example of glitches and some workarounds:1: If you die in a cave, your gear is forever lost b/c it fell through the ground.2. Teleporting into the boss arena and having all your dinos disappear forever, or you fall through the world during the teleport. This is a big loss b/c you can loose everything at 1-3 months into game... Note this is similar to a "rogue- like". If you die you cannot reload a save file.3. Loading a map save from xbox to a PC and then syncing back to the xbox or vice versa and you lose all progress. Official support solution is simply cheat with console commands and return everything you lost. :-(If you're on a official server, they may give more support...But that's what they told us... Personally you shouldn't have to cheat to be able to play or beat a game. We as a team successfully did everything in our power to not cheat to beat the game.So why the high score? B/c it remains a pretty good game. With all the building options and the VAST amount of highly accurate dinosaurs and challenge. It's still fun.... just expect some problems with the very end game stuff... Besides in that case. It's better to do those last challenges with an army of team mates on a dedicate server. If you play with a small team. Do everything else in the game before the Caves and boss battles... Then breed an army of similar throw away dinos and go out expecting you'll lose everything. Have low expectations and everything will be fun still lol.

Had to physically buy the game even though I had game pass. Since I lost my game data while deployed, there was no way I was going to be able to download it via internet, so I bought the disk instead and I was able to play offline.

It’s a great game but it’s reallllly reallly reallly hard to start the game single player at first I died at least 7 times and still not to far but once u get started u are good to go and never did

I didn't buy this for myself. It was for the kid who has become addicted to it. Hours on end she plays this game just roaming around the imaginary wilderness grabbing bits of bushes and stuff to make things with.She is so quiet until she starts to rant about raptors. But that's ok. Haven't we all?

Great game. takes 40GB of download space, PLUS disc content. Make sure you have this much space on your Xbox or it cannot be installed. The game is challenging, but the main draw back is that all progress can be lost if switching tribes is not performed correctly. Some pop up warnings would be good to caution the player about the danger of switching tribes. My 13 yr old son lost 3 days of progress.

I bought this for my grandson and he loved it! Not 1 issue with this game and it was a great buy. So worth the money.
