Is this just the case or is it the actual hAP Lite *in* the tower case?

It's the real thing. Not just a case. Only has 10/100 ports though

Has anyone used this with a VPN and an enigma2 receiver?

It doesn't matter what you connect it to, enigma2 satbox, android tv box, IPTV box, if you configure this item for use with a vpn service anything connected will be covered by the vpn service.

Does it have the ability to create a guest network?

It has 4 to 5 ssids address one of these can be a guest network

can i use this at the end ofmy garden, ethernet cable straight from router to this,can i then use the 2nd port to give wire connection + wireless wifi

I did this and found it really hard to link up, so it’s still in its box waiting for a rainy day. I ended up buying a TPlink and running the Ethernet cable from the existing router to my shed and plugged the Tp link into a socket and connected the Ethernet. Works perfect now
