Sunhouse (Dimplex Group) SHTTH2 Tubular Heater, 80 W, Multi-Colour

After sleepless nights worrying my guinea pigs were getting too cold I finally decided to purchase a heater for their insulated converted playhouse which they live in outside. The dimensions of the house is 4ftx4.5ft and is approximately 5 ft tall. After reading the reviews I wasnt very hopeful that it would increase the temperature much, but decided to give it a try. I have waited a month since buying it to really test and I am so so happy with how this heater performs. The outdoor temperature can be as low as 5 degrees and their shed stays at a toasty 17/18 degrees. The heater itself gets hot to touch so is placed high up. The heater is safe, with no exposed heating elements and I can finally get a good night sleep knowing my guinea pigs are safe and warm.The only fault I would say with this heater is the thermostat has no numbers on it and it can be hard to work out what it really means. I use a digital thermometer to monitor the temperature and only ever run the heater on its lowest thermostat and it still keeps the hutch this warm.All together a really good product, easy to install, cheap to run (not really noticed much of an electricity increase) and does actually work as a heater which I was suprised to see (after reading reviews)Would recommend for small spaces :)

Good price, low back ground heat, ideal for sheds / outdoor workroom where you can set a frost setting to be more cost effective.

I picked this to help heat a 6 metre square room in our static off-grid cabin. Yes it does help keep it warm but it's output is so low it isn't powerful enough for that size room. I actually ended up spending the same on a tiny oil heater which works far better. Probably ok to heat a room half that size to a like warm temperature.

We had an Immersion tank removed from our airing cupboard, but wanted to still have a place to dry towels and keep the bedding fresh.Works perfectly for this and doesn't cost much at all (smart meter estimate's about 5p a day - We've found the thermostat doesn't need to be very high).

Needed a low cost heater for a small downstairs loo, which has no heating from the house. This fitted the bill exactly, room now un chilled and looks great. Wouldn't generate enough heat for more than a v small room but its only 80w and therefore cheap to run.

It is as it says on the box and works well with the thermostat according to the temperature of the surrounding.

Does the job

I bought two of these ceramic heaters (probably from another seller) years ago. One of them gave up the ghost after about a year the other one is still going strong when required. Both units were one foot long though and not two foot. This two foot unit gives off a discernable heat but should not be thought of as an electric or gas heater as such, they are simply not that powerful. Although when on full you certainly wouldn't want to touch them! I had the two of them on all the time 24/7 when the frosts were about to hit and will do the same this year with the new unit and the old one. They keep up a comfortable anti-frost warmth for the plants - and me. I'll just have to see how long this new one lasts. The two I bought years ago came supplied with 'protective covers' included in the price. This unit just has the support brackets, screws and rawl plugs.

Parece hecha para que duren toda la vida, funcionan bien pero mi gusto no calientan los suficiente, creia que darian mas calor. De momento van bien. Me falta ver como funcionan con mas frio. tengo 8 de 80 watios por que no ponen en venta las de 160 watios y voy justo. No le pongo 5 estrellas por llevar el enchufe de UK auque se venda en españa. Deveria llevar enchufe EU he tenido que adquirir una regleta con enchufes UK y enchufe de la corriente EU. Tube una gasto extra por lo arriba dicho. Un saludo

Schlicht und gut bedienbar. Halterung etwas wackelig. Power plug Type G (für UK) musste ich abschneiden und an meine Verteilung anschliessen. Es gibt kein Ausschaltknopf bzw Ausschaltzustand vom Drehregler.
