Can it be used on a (supported) router as backup internet connection?

Yes. It works as a backup connection on our Meraki MX65 and MX84.

Cannot get dongle to recognise ee sim card? (like you recommended!)?

KIm, we couldn't either, so we put a Vodafone sim in & worked perfect first time

Can i insert a 'three' sim that is originally intended to be used in three's new unlimited huawei homefi so i can use it my tp link router?

Dear Customer, Thank you for your interest in our products and for your inquiry. As long as this Huawei E3372 is unlocked, it should work with a SIM card from any network operator in UK. Therefore, we recommend contacting the seller to verify that it is not locked in any particular network. Best regards, Huawei Customer Care Team
