Outstanding quality for a sore that is frequently used. Elegant finish that allows for left or right door installations. Only drawback is not having smart key feature that would have allowed setting lock to same key as other locks on premise.

I bought a very cheap lock set & dead bolt and it was terrible. So I thought I would pay a little more and see. Brinks is a name I know and is respected in security so I went with them. I love the style and they were so easy to install. I’m not a particularly mechanically inclined woman but I can do simple repairs if needed. I installed this deadbolt in minutes! It was so easy! Anyway, also purchased the entry door lockset And it was just as easy to install! I recommend them highly!

I just moved into a new apartment, needed new door knob and dead bolt. They weren't a matching set but, they look great. Easy enough to install. I once worked for Dunbar and Brinks is their competition. Brinks is known for high level security, they probably rate their deadbolts a level lower than they are so, I normally buy brinks when it comes to thinks like locks and safes.

The house I purchased had really cheap door knobs and deadbolts, the one in the front door was constantly backing out the screws, couple times a week I had to tighten and when screw was out you couldnt really count on the door opening from the outside. This one is solid as they come and was an easy install. Very pleased with it and confident it will outlast me.

This is an attractive and modern lock that would have upgraded my front entry door hardware to match the much nicer hardware already in place at the informal (laundry/utility room) entry.Sadly, through no fault of Brinks, I am unable to remove the existing lock to install this much more attractive replacement. The original lock is not Brinks; it's from a vendor who won't be named. The thumb lever of the existing lock is attached to its shaft by a tiny setscrew and this must be removed to remove the lock. The other vendor's product posed a serious safety risk by this arrangement which the reader may want to watch for and avoid. The set screw despite being properly installed wiggled free once and dropped the thumb lever to the floor overnight. If there had been a fire or other safety issue and this been the only accessible exit then tragedy could ensue. So I replaced the set screw using thread locker and now it cannot be removed, unless destructive means are used, to service or replace the lock.The Brinks deadbolt does NOT share this flaw and can be installed, removed and serviced with just the typical two screws holding the inside and outside halves together plus of course the screws holding the latch into the door.Brinks customer service is also superb and alone warrants the five star rating. I re-key my own locks but I only have solid plug followers, not the hollow style required for this lock. Brinks expedited a complimentary hollow follower to me so that I could service this lock.
