STAKE-OUT SPIKE

Sturdy but may not be great for dogs over 50kg
This has held up well over the last few weeks, as we've been spending a lot of time outside with the current situation! The only issue is when our large dog (55kg) tried to test it's strength and pull at the other end. It stayed in the ground and held him but when I went to check it later, the metal had actually bent at the top (it had been as far into the ground as it could go.) I'm wary that anything over 50kg could bend it completely and potentially take it out of the ground after a couple attempts. Perfect for gardens and supervised use!

Not the extra strong item it claims to be
Used this for my 6 month old Labrador pup for the first time yesterday. Was reasonably easy to screw it into pretty hard ground but the first time the dog pulled hard against it the shaft bent to about 45 degrees. It didn’t snap but don’t have confidence it wouldn’t have done if we’d continued using it. Asked for a refund straight away. My dog is strong but not especially heavy and I’m sure there are much larger and stronger dogs around. This item is definitely NOT extra strong or sturdy!

Couldn't screw it into the ground :-(
I'm fairly strong, but I simply couldn't screw it into the ground! The thing looks sturdy enough, but I think you need "just the right" ground, which is soft and maybe damp?I struggled for ages before giving up.It screws in a turn or so then starts to "drill" the ground, feeding soil up through the threads, but not gripping in any way. After "drilling" 4 holes, we gave up and had a much needed beer!

Don't waste your money if you've got a big dog
This product is not heavy duty, my bull mastiff staffy cross bent this within a few minutes. Tried to return as not fit for purpose but expected me to pay postage for the return of a faulty product which was half of original cost. Would like to give no stars but wouldn't allow me to.

Does the job
I use this for my Staffordshire Bull Terrier when the dog in the next garden starts barking and she charges for the fence. She hasn’t been able to pull it out of the ground. She hasn’t been able to pull it out but she only pulls on it for a minute. Really pleased with it.

Amazing quality, sturdy!
This is huge! It's certainly not flimsy and I feel secure in tieing my little dog to it, you need relatively soft ground though so in Cornwall that's tricky, stones everywhere, but overall amazing quality.

Keeps my dog safe
I live on a busy road and don't trust my dog to run off the drive. I use this so my dog can come into the front garden with me. It's great and he'd rather be on this than alone inside the house. It is easy to twist in and out of the ground.

Very strong
Having used a cheaper version which bent when my dog saw me returning from the shower block on a camping trip and decided to let it over to me I had to get another. This one feels very strong. It's been used twice with no issues.
