Treasure in a Morocco vessel !
Users of the King James Version of the Bible will need no introduction to it, so I will just confine myself to aspects of this volume that were specific to to this one..You either love the KJV or you don't.I was concerned about weight. I have for 10 years, owned a CUP KJV with useful wide margins, but it weighs more the a Kilo, and years of carrying it in a briefcase to and from Church mean it is falling apart. I have bought a Thompson chain reference Bible, which has the same disadvantages, although it's a useful study material, particulary on eschatolology. I wanted a light weight KJV, that I could travel with in a briefcase, reasonably sturdy, and as it's for use in Church, it has to be handsome leather. This one is small, but it's very clear print. it will lie flat open at the page you are on. I always prefer to get Bibles with leather covers, but this is special, it's not the usual bonded leather that divides into its constituent lamina after a few years, but Morocco , which will after a few years of use become flexible because of the natural oil in the fingers, and this has a lovely texture to it, to show that the Book is indeed precious.I have been using the KJV in various forms for about 30 years, ever since I discovered there were serious omissions in the more recent translations, such as Acts8:37, my authority for adult baptism, and Mark 16: Having relied on Acts 8: Not all KJV texts are the same. If, like me you have bothered to read the headnotes and captions, and been confused, read on!I have not found any significant differerences in the body of the text, but the page headings, and the headnotes to the Psalms in particular vary alarmingly. Whether or not you believe this translation is divinely inspired (which I do, ) no such claim can be made for the headnotes. This is the Cambridge text. In the Cambridge University text, I might just single out at random the following: Ps 46 is headed: To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth.Never mind what it means, you'll see the significance later. Ps 48, "Great is the lord , and greatly to be praised", is headed A Songs and Psalm for the sons of Korah. Ps 122 : "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go the house of the Lord" is headed: A Song of degrees of David. But the Oxford version heads Ps 46 with: Confidence which the church has in Go. :Ps 48 becomes Ornaments and priviliges of the church. And Ps 122 becomes: David professes his joy for the church. In the Cambridge text Isaiah 48 is headed The vanity of idols and sorceries, and Isaiah 49 is headed: God's love for his people,. But the Oxford text makes Is 48 mean: God, to convince his people of their obstinacy, reveals his prophecies, 12. He exhorts them to obedience; and 49:Christ, being sent to the Jews, complains of them: 5.he is sent to the Gentiles 13. God's love to the church perpetual. Some strange things happened in the 18th Century. One of them was that someone "modernised" the spelling. We no longer have the book of Prouerbes, exhorting us to Buy the trueth. Gone is the topical heading Of Cefars tribute, or the refurrection. This was good. But an ancient and noxious error forced its way in, by design rather than accident. This is Supersessionism, or Replacement Theology. The Church are the good guys now, the true Israel. . All the "nice " prophecies are for the Church, and all the "nasty" ones are for the Jews. Much anti -Semitism owes its origin to this error; Calvin and Luther were right in many ways, but on this issue, they were 100% wrong.Printing, paper, and leather aside, this is a good enough reason to buy the CUP text.Interestingly, just after this purchase, I was hospitalised for 3 weeks, and I took it with me. I don't always remember my "memory verses", (!) and a Bible small enought sit in its box in a washbag was a real blessing!Buy and be blessed

Beautiful quality bible at a reasonable price
A beautiful quality bible for a low price. Nice leather, and very black clear font, so easy to read, a pleasure on the eye. I would recommend for someone who wants a beautiful quality bible but does not wish to pay the price for goatskin clarion, which although I don't own is probably miles better but something like four times the cost of this beauty. A good, everyday reading bible, no notes or anything so if you want notes or study material you will wish to get something else aswell/instead of.

Hardback Bible
My mother's old Bible was falling apart and a replacement was needed. It isn't too easy to find a copy which has a decent size of type - one would think that some of the editions were for ornamental purposes, rather than for reading! This one has a good size of text, and is hardback which makes it stronger.

Much better than the new international (per)versions
I treated myself to this as I do not trust the bibles printed from 1990 onwards, including the NKJ which even has an emblem which when deciphered shows 666!!! This AKJ is the best and after a while is fairly straightforward to read. And since it is pocket sized is handy for reading while travelling.

KJV Standard Text Edition
As one reviewer has already commented, this is a reading Bible as opposed to a study Bible. It is simple to read with no footnotes or concordance.I have posted some photos which show the book size and how the text is laid out.

I bought this when I realised I could no longer read the small print of my grandmother's KJB , which I have used for over 50 years . A marker ribbon would be good but otherwise it is fine .
