Turned our aquarium around!
This filter cartridge has turned our tank around. If you have a Ciano CF40 filter or similar, it should have two cartridges (when bought new it only comes with one), make one of them this!

New Improved Bio Cartridges are a Con
I've been using these bio cartridges that fit into the Ciano filter for nearly two years, and although they say they last months, they don't. It's normally 4-6 weeks. There are two in each box. I ordered some more recently and noticed they looked cheap, but put them in the filter and they were OK for a week, but I noticed the water getting dirty so I thought I would do a small water change and only changing the sponge in the filter at the bottom of it as this sucks in the dirt. It wouldn't work properly so I took the filter apart and this new bio cartridge split in two revealing just a bit of filter wool and the some polystyrene balls used to keep plants moist. For the price of these filters, it's going to cost me a fortune just for this make of filter which the unit is a new one. I will use these up and get another make of filter as I'm never getting this make again which came with the tank. I'm also wondering if the seller is buying these from China very cheaply instead of Ciano hence the seller is making a hefty profit. Beware.
