Sturdy, easy to use overlocker, love it!
Love it so far, was already set-up with threads and within minutes of unpacking I was using it. Sturdy and has all the tools for adding a quality finish to your sewing projects. Love it so far, wish I'd bought one years ago!

Great buy, and easy to use
As an amateur dressmaker this is the first overlocker I've ever bought and I thought long and hard before choosing this one, reading all reviews on Amazon and also independent ones. I am so pleased with this; it arrived very quickly and I deliberately ignored it for a couple of days until I had plenty of time to read the instruction book fully and to play with it at the same time. However, I needn't have worried about it being that complicated. It is surprisingly easy to use, made more so by the fact that it comes with four thread cones already set up on the machine. I was actually test overlocking in about 10 minutes. I have read many comments on how overlockers can be difficult to thread but that isn't the case here, the thread directions and number sequencing of loopers and needles were easy to follow and I have rethreaded the machine several times since it arrived a few weeks ago (mainly because when I put it away I close the thread tree, causing the thread to occasionally slip from one of its guiders). I would say it pays to learn how to rethread it yourself rather than tie replacement thread to the ends of the previous cone, just keep your instruction book next to you while you do it and you'll soon have it sussed. The quality of the stitching is very good, I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to finishing off garments and I think the seam edging looks very professional. I'm so pleased with this purchase, only time will tell whether it continues to be such a good machine.

Good machine
This Brother overlocker appears to be a good machine with helpful instructions. I have tried it out on some initial basic work and so far so good though it seems a little noisier than expected.

Great little machine
I wanted to replace my Singer overlocker and spent a lot of time researching. Brother came up as one of the best budget brands, but also gave the more expensive brands a run for their mobey. This overlocker came out as the best of the top end budget machines , and the next model up was £100 more so I thought I'd try this one and see how it goes. The extension table is included, although it's fairly small. It has a cutting blade, as do most overlockers. Like most budget models, it can only do 3 and 4 thread stitches, but that is fine for my use (mainly edging bags). The stitching is neat. It can feel quite plastic and not as heavy as my Singer, but equally this one doesn't bounce around the table at higher speeds like my Singer did. It also has a little plastic basket to catch the cuttings which is really handy, but it fills up quickly. In saying that, I do a lot of sewing, so it depends on how much you use it. I read reviews that it was difficult to see the markings to know where to feed the fabric through to get the stitching in the right place. I haven't found that an issue as there is a little bit notch on the foot which shows the central point, but it did take me a while to spot it. I've replaced 2 spools so far with no issues- I was able to tie the new threads on and continued sewing. No thread breakages yet, and I haven't needed to re-thread the whole thing. So far, so good. Time will tell how robust it is, but it's a great little machine.

Worth the extra cost over the cheaper model
I love the wide table on this overlocker and also the little bin that collects the trimmings, so they don’t end up in my lap and all over the floor. These 2 features for me make this machine worth the extra cost over and above the model below. It’s easy to use, sews well and doesn’t slide about when in use like my previous Singer one did (it was one of the budget Lidl ones).I just wish I hadn’t waited as long as I did to upgrade. This is much more reliable and easy to use than the Singer and I’m already using it so much more. If you’re pondering over whether or not to buy this, go for it. You won’ t regret it.

Perfect budget overlocker for beginners and intermediate
I was fed up of french seaming and bias binding all my edges and craved a neat and clean finish. This overlocker is perfect. It came pre threaded, i wanted to learn how difficult it would be just incase it un-threaded by mistake and it was so simple to learn too. The instructions with and on the machine were very clear. Im very happy with my purchase

Great yourself. This overlocker is so EASY to use
Oh my, I cannot believe that I took this out of the box and within 40 minutes I'd sewn a long sleeved t shirt for myself, having NEVER even been close to an over locker, yet alone used one.Yes it was fully threaded upon arrival, but after my 1st make I decided to learn to thread it myself. It is so EASY. My 2nd make had a rolled lettuce hem!I had researched before purchasing and watched every tutorial that I could find, so I felt comfortable from the off.Highly recommend
