My dog loves doing "magic"
My dog gets so excited when we get this toy out to work on the "tricks." She is super food motivated so she's very excited to learn the tricks and it's a great challenge for me to get her brain to slow down long enough to teach them to her. The whole set is super cute and while we don't have kids I am sure it would be a lot of fun to work with this as a family.

So creative!
What a fun and creative idea for a dog product! This is a great way for kids to be involved with the dog as well. The magic element is so cute. Can't wait until my pup learns all the tricks!

I was shocked that our high energy dog was actually engaged with this
So fun to see our little high energy pup actually engaged and learning. This toy is easy to use with great instructions. Fun for a beginner that has never tried any training similar to this.

Fun Intermediate Trick Kit for Your Clever Dog - Good Kit to Get Kids Involved in Training
The Brightkins Magic Trick Training Set is an excellent set to get your kids involved with training your dog. Unlike the Brightkins Pooch School Training Kit, this set focuses on intermediate level tricks for your dog such as spin, sit up (levitate), pull the rabbit out of the hat, and even a canine three shell game. The only two tricks that I would consider being basic are "ta dah", which is a cue that you'd use instead of the clicker noise, and "hypnosis", which is essentially "target" using the wand. If your family already uses a clicker, I would skip the "ta dah" cue and use the clicker instead. The set comes with 17 pieces, although I would call that a misnomer as the set considers the paper items such as the instruction manual and each of the cards as a separate item. The actual tangible items are the three bones, the treat wand, the rabbit (which is similar to a Kong), and the hat. The instructions on teaching your dog to perform the tricks are definitely written in succinct "kid speak", but it's sufficient to get your dog started on learning the more difficult tricks. As an adult, I would still utilize videos and more indepth books to teach your dog the more difficult tricks such as levitate (sit up) or standing on a stool, as those tricks can be a bit tricky for some dogs to master. As long as the whole family is consistent in training, the family will likely learn the tricks quickly. Overall, this is a fun set to get kids involved with the training of the family dog and something worth considering if you want to teach your dog some novel tricks.

A little silly, but fun
I'm always looking for fun activities to do with my dog that can help work her brain and keep her entertained, so I was excited to use this magic trick training set with her. Though it's not necessarily teaching her anything knew, we have had fun with it and I think it would be especially fun for kids to use with their pups.Note that this set will work especially well if your dog is highly treat-motivated- mine is! She went along with pretty much all of the tricks right away. It took her a little time to learn how to pull the rabbit out of the hat (she's not a big chewer and is hesitant to bite anything she's not sure is hers), but once she did, she was so proud of herself and wanted to do it over and over again and carry the rabbit around the house in between tricks. If you have young kids and a dog, this would be so fun to get for them, have them work with the dog, and then ultimately have them put on a magic show! I felt a little bit silly as an adult doing some of the tricks with my dog, but I have to admit both of us did have a good time!

Lots of fun for pup and human. Perfect for cold days when looking to entertain the puppy.
We adopted a mixed puppy from an animal rescue. After having his DNA tested, we learned he is a Doberman, Pitbull, Great Pyrenes, Australian Shepherd. After reading a little on the breeds, we learned a few things: Dobermans are very smart dogs. Australian Shepherds are smart, get bored and will create their own games. Pitbulls can have an excessive energy. Great Pyrenes are also a smart dog. He is quite the mix. We learned real fast that when he gets bored, he makes up his own games. When he gets bored of his games he starts getting mischievous. We learned that he is a very smart dog and highly trainable. He has learned the basic commands. He plays cornhole with me at the park. We have reinvented playing fetch to add a new element. Otherwise he gets bored and starts looking for things to chew.I have wondered how I am going to occupy this puppy through the winter months. Then I saw this. This is a WONDERFUL way to teach your puppy a some new tricks or basic skills. For me, I like to think of this set as I always had special toys for my kids when they were growing up that I would pull out on a rainy day. This is the toy I will be pulling out on bad weather days for my pup. This is one of those toy sets that you bring out to your puppy and have some fun. This does NOT go in their toy box.To try it out:I felt like a little kid pulling everything out. I had to twirl the wand. I had to put the bunny in the hat. I had to set up the shell game bones on the floor.I took out the directions and read the first trick. It is Ta Da! Teaching your puppy that there are treats in the hat. Since my puppy loves eating, he loves this simple trick. What I loved is that there are training tips. Like something I was doing wrong- DON'T speak and reach simultaneously into the hat. I am to pause between ta da and the treat. After I felt that the First skill/magic trick was taught I moved on.The magic wand was next. This took a little bit of practice on my part. At first I wanted to load all of the treats into the wand. I would tap and all of the treats would fall out. Then I read the directions closer.I began adding just one treat in the side hole of the wand. This allowed me to use his small heart treats easily. (I could only use his dog food when I tried to fill the wand.) My puppy caught onto this skill much faster than I did. There is a Part 2 of this magic trick- teaching your puppy to follow the wand further. Following the directions, this worked very well and my pup was following the wand around the house. The last trick I tried before writing this review was the nose hypnosis. I read the direction closely this time. My pup's head followed the wand around in a circle. He loved the treat with ta da. I then moved onto the Part 2. I started adding steps making him move back and forth. Worked perfectly. There is even another further step in hypnosis. I can take in the tips to teach my puppy to walk around items of the house (maybe even teaching him to leave things alone?)Working on these 3 skills took about 10 minutes. Keeping the session short like the trainer tips said, I ended there. My puppy LOVED this. He was completely focused on playing these little games. The items are durable enough. These are not chew toys. My puppy did do his own magic trick and found the hat I left out and started chewing on it. He isn't a heavy chewer (more of a taker). There was no damage to the hat at all.5 EASY stars. This has been fun for me. Fun for my puppy. Great for adults. I would think any child trainer to be would love to create a magic show for people! Even I was thinking, "Oh, wait til I can show off all of his new skills". Tons of fun.
