A high quality soil moisture and pH meter. This is not to be confused with many of the cheap and nasty moisture meters sold on here which, according to the reviews, tend to break the second time you use them. This deviceis designed for professional/agricultural use but seems to work just as well with domestic potted plants. Insert the probe into the soil and after a short pause, the gauge slowly moves to display the soil pH. Hold down the white button to obtain a moisture reading.For me, it has already proved invaluable for getting the correct moisture levels in my chilli plants. There's also a useful pH reference guide on the side of the unit which will come in handy in the future. It may be a little pricey compared to the others, but it looks and feels like it will last many times longer.

Always used cheap probes before and never trusted them. So tried to check the accuracy of this one.basically placed probe in short sand which read at 6.8 then basically swamped sand with 4.0 buffer solution. Made sure buffer solution surrounded probe and guess what ph 4.0 bob on. Then out quick as possible and wipe well pleased.

Having bought a cheap tester which broke on second usage when poked into ground, this item has a much thicker spike and is a robust piece of equipment. You do not need to lie down to read it as the gauge is on the top!

This was wildly inaccurate and the readings were out by roughly 1.5ph. I had the soil tested professionally to calibrate the meter. Very disappointing.
