Would this work for splicing 1/8" [3 mm] diameter braided dyneema cordage?

It should do 1.5 to 4mm dyneema.

Is this like the brion toss splicing wand? I. New to splicing.

It is similar in that you use the pulling technique, not the "old school" pushing of the line with hollow fids, but does not have the snare that the wand does. We use the D-splicer everyday in our rigging shop for double braid, single braid and high-tech splices.

Would this work for doing a full berry on amsteel

Yes. Depending on the length of the bury, it may be a multi-step bury, but that tool will do it.

Would this work on braided 1mm dyneema?

No, even the smallest needle in this kit is too large for 1mm Dyneema. Most manufacturers recommend that you do not splice Dyneema smaller than 2mm in diameter because it is usually constructed of 8 strands vice 12 strands. I have special needles made from .040 inch diameter stainless welding wire that I use to splice 1.6 and 2mm dynemma, mostly for non load bearing applications. I’m also a professional rigger so I don’t recommend this to anyone with little rigging experience.

Not good enough

Was ok on easy splices where there was no load at all, the moment any load came against it the pullers snapped... I had one made in the end by a fabrication company, 1 year in and that on is still working
