Looks ideal for when the weather won't make up its mind
I bought this on a whim. It's still high summer, and I haven't field tested it, so take this review with a pinch of salt.I like merino wool. It's expensive, it doesn't last as long or dry as quicky as other fibres, and some fine it too itchy, but what you gain is versatility. It keeps you warm, even when wet, and or let's you perspire freely without getting damp or smelly, even if you don't wash it for days.So I thought it would make sense to convince a simple, versatile fabric with a simple, versatile garment design. The combination of thin fabric and long tube give you the option of wearing it as a light single layer or heavier double layer. The main modes of use for me would be: - hat - face / neck cover - furled up tightlyTo make the hat, twist the tube in the middle, so that you have two hats joined at their centres, and then merge the two into one. The twist in the middle creates an inelegant, but well insulated bulge. It's pretty warm, considering the weight of the material.I think the tube's star feature is the ability to furl it up and place it wherever's convenient – around the wrist; over the head – without having to think about pockets or backpacks.I'll test it properly this winter.

I'm a Convert!
I first noticed Buffs some years ago and was not convinced. Heavily marketed in places like Millets, Blacks, and Cotswold Camping they seemed very much an overpriced fashion accessory for trendy backpacking hipsters, and not something to be seen in as a self respecting gentleman over 30!Being a fan of merino wool however I recently stumbled across this woollen version which caused me to reconsider. The principle attraction was it's neat compactness; here was a garment professing similar functions to a scarf and more, yet which tucks down to about the size of a cigarette packet. Still somewhat sceptical I resolved to splash out on a very conservative grey version.I have to say I'm delighted I gave it a try. Small enough to live in my coat pocket I'm rarely without it now. Mainly used as a scarf or sometimes as a beanie to cover my ears. It works especially well combined with a hat or cap and is thin enough to slip under a cycle helmet keeping ears face and neck toastie whilst out on wintery roads without overheating - I'm converted now and will most likely get more as gifts. So why not five stars? I do think it is a marvellously innovative product with great value in it's versatility.Even so, £20 for a 50g 2' tube of fabric does sting the wallet no matter how pretty the packaging.- I still recommend it highly however -

Nice and comfortable. Lasted 18months before multiple holes appear
Really nice buff, no stretch but it's a loose fit and long length.Initially preferred the original buff with its stretch but this has become my favourite for daily use hot or cold.Very thin, after 18months there's lots of small holes in the thin material but unnoticeable when worn as it bunches up alot, i am purchasing another as they're so good and excellent value for how much I've used it.

so comfortable...
I love these; I wear them as a headband when walking/cycling/skiing, and they are a bigger, more comfortable fit than the Original Buff, with the added benefit that they don't move up at the back of your neck, as the tighter ones are inclined to do. The material is lovely; warm when cold and cool when warm, with beautiful colours and designs. Yes they are pricy but I think they're definitely worth it; I have four of them now and get great use out of them. The Original Buff (non-wool variety) by the way, is great for use as a headband when swimming, for keeping the hair out of your face if you don't want to wear a hat/cap!

Great neck warmer
I wear these neck warmers every day, I find they are not too thick so I forget I'm even wearing one. It's soft and keeps the draught away so I feel really comfortable wearing it. I wear it when working outside and inside. It's cosy!

Angenehmes Tragegefühl
Ich liebe die Buffs für die kältere Jahreszeit und trage ihn fast 24h. Man hat immer einen warmen Hals ohne zu schwitzen. Sollte man im Schrank nicht missen.

The best tube scarf
These Buff merino scarfs are the best, I have tried so many different polyesther before, but they always get smelly and wear off after one or even after just half of a seasson. The merinowool type breaths, warm, soft, and does not get smelly as it airs out after each use. And they are sturdy enough. Get merinowool scarf and beanies.
