Having never done a job like this before I thought a review of the product ...
Amazon yet again have delivered, I received these on the same day as I ordered, delivery was by prime and as always very efficient. To the product: -Reason for purchase – When attempting to fix our toilet system after the flush had broken, the float also broke. So basically a new system was needed. Having never done a job like this before I thought a review of the product and how hard it was to do it was in order. The products comes in a retail plastic bag. It comes in a hassle free packaging so there's no need for scissors. It contains: -1 x Bottom entry float and filler (Whatever you call it, basically everything needed to fill the toilet system)The product feels great, it a mini version of what I've seen before which is ideal as it needed to fit in the downstairs toilet where its a mini toilet. It fits in perfectly.Installation was much easier than I expected.Step 1 - Turn off the water to the toiletStep 2 - Empty the systemStep 3 - Unscrew the nut that holds the pipe work to the fillerStep 4 - Unscrew the nut at the base of the toilet that holds the filler in the toilet.Step 5 - Remove the old fillerStep 6 - Repeat the above steps in the reverse order to assemble.Step 9 - When doing the screwing the mains water to the new filler you may need to use pipe sealing tape if you have some drips, I however was lucky and it slotted together perfectly.Step 10 - Turn on the water whilst you can see the system filling, once full remove the red bit of plastic turn clockwise and pull up gently untill the water stops filling to the correct height (just below the overflow)Step 11 - Turn the filler anticlockwise to lock it in place and put the red bit of plastic back.It was maybe the simplest bit of DIY that looked daughting but it was easy. even if you went wrong, you just turn off the water. All in all, a great product.*If you have any questions, then click my profile and drop me a message and I will be happy to help you. perfect..... with a little adjustment.
was a very ideal replacement for my fraulty fluidmaster BUT.... with a little adjustment. when i first fitted it wouldnt let the water through and after much head scratching and youtuber searching (with zero results) i finally figured it out. where you connect the water pipe.... there is a small insert inside the pipe with a mesh water filter with TWO backflow valves (too much) so i removed both of the back flow valves as the old inlet didnt use them either... i then re-inserted the filter and installed the inlet.... now it works perfectly.

Excellent design
I had been using Fluidmaster inlet valves, however my bathroom loo was a weird modern design that positioned the bottom inlet hole close to the side wall. The original fitment was unadjustable in height and only filled cistern half full, contributing to a poor flush. Fitted the Fluidmaster, but the float design is quite bulbous, it snagged on the porcelain wall. I had to wedge it away to make it work and that caused the (flat) rubber seal to leak. The Skylo looked good in the photos (and cheaper) so bought that one.Its a great and thoughtful design. The float doesn't protrude from the stem so fitted in the small space. It is the only one I've seen that has the float covered, so even less chance of snagging. The rubber seal is cone shaped which is superior to the conventional flat ones ...no leaks there! Even the plastic 1/2 nut is designed ease turning in awkward places. The height adjustment is generous and easy, if necessary can be tweaked after fitting . I now get maximum fill.Very pleased and Skylo will be my choice from now on.

Good for high inlet pressures and tight or awkward cisterns
Bought to replace a leaking and water-hammer inducing old-style ball float valve in a 20yr old larger cistern Although not a modern small 6l cistern I needed a small form factor for the valve as the bottom entry to the cistern is close to the edge and also the flush lever is on the same side, meaning the internal lever to the Syphon will foul any larger entry valves. We also have high water pressure which caused problems for the Torvek valve I had previously fitted a few days ago as a replacement (flow restrictor made it fill far too slowly to be useful, no restrictor meant water wouldn't ever completely shut off!).This valve was a straightforward DIY job which took about 10 minutes. The conical rubber seal provided made a good leak-proof seal. In operation the valve is quiet when filling, and the valve shut off doesn't give a big "thunk" when closing despite our high pressure. Speaking of which this valve has no issue with high pressure at all and didn't require any fiddling with flow restrictors - it was just fit and forget. Easy to adjust the height of the unit before fitting, then fine tuning the float to cut off is easily done via the simple screw action adjuster. So far, so good after many a test flush after fitting it this morning.
