Practical and well thought out
The Darlac Giant Telescopic Pole is a very handy piece of equipment. I have used it very successfully in combination with the Darlac Traditional Pruning Saw for cutting back trees, with the cuts at above twice my height, all without using ladders or ropes. The pole accepts a number of plug-in items - as well as a couple of saws, I also have a plug-in for cleaning the house windows. The pole itself is fairly light, appears to be pretty strong (it flexes a bit, but not badly), and is well thought out - in particular, the little hook for connecting to the plug-ins so that if they become detached from the pole when in use, they do not fall onto you but end up dangling from the hook instead. Very useful when using saws above head-height.You need to think carefully about safety if cutting trees above head height using a device such as this, but if you are going to use something like this then the Darlac pole is a good one to go for.Recommended.

Did the job
It’s an amazingly long pole, very bendy at longer settings with the lopper end fitted, but I was able to get the job done reaching overhanging tree branches upto 30mm thick. When pulling the lopper string it bends so you have to bias the bending by applying pressure to bend it the opposite direction.

Very useful
At 5m max length this is a great help at reaching places that would otherwise be inaccessible. The poles are locked at any extension just by twisting and so far this is proving to be reliable, holding well even when using a pull-cord pruner head. What is not apparent in the description currently on Amazon is that this is a three-section pole. When retracted it is less than 2m long so it is very versatile in use and although it's quite a bit more expensive than the standard extending pole, if you don't mind the extra ½kg weight, you could use this one for everything.

No screw at the end top of the pole
Absolutely useless no any screw fitting option at the end top, when you insert anything to attach the pole it's not fitting properly. I am very disappointed and made a wrong decision to purchase this item.

Best 5m pole you could ask for
The Darlac range is, on the whole, of very good quality - and this extendable pole does them credit. A very simple twist and lock mechanism allows it to be extended to the required hight. It is light-weight and that means that there has to be some flexing when fully extended. If this was steel instead of aluminium you would not be able to lift it. Upon delivery, I attached one of Darlac's gutter brushes and extended it to full length. Easily reached the gutters of the two-storey house, and had no trouble manipulation the brush. Satisfied enough to order some further swop top attachments. Note that the gutter brush itself is not recommended for rough use - bought from Darlac on eBay and left negative review.

A Tall Tale
Bought this as I was having trouble pruning some high branches. Brilliant tool. Lightweight pole, easy to extend and lock in place. Acc tools fit easily and securely. Obviously any 5 metre pole with an accessory such as tree loppers fixed on top is a little unwieldy. Take your time. Be safe and this will do the job it was meant for. What greater compliment can you give a piece of equipment

works well, much longer reach than most poles
Used it for pruning trees, safer than using steps, it works well, but not quite long enough to reach the highest branches on most trees without standing on the top of a big pairs off steps with it, which is a little hazardous.

Exceeded expectations
This has been an invaluable tool in our new house - we moved into a converted barn, with ridiculously high ceilings. It has mainly been used with the Swop Top Cobweb Brush to remove vast quantities of cobwebs far above the reach of anything else (we had spent, ahem, entertaining nights taping together as many long things as we could find in order to 'poot' irritating flies and evict spiders - reminiscent of the fly in Walter White's lab!)This pole is very sturdy, easy to extend and retract, and has a really very good reach. I can easily imagine it would be very useful with other available accessories in the garden or around the home.
