2 month review
bought 2 of these. on carpet very low carpet that is on top of concrete. already have multiple cracks in it im a big guy 250 lbs i roll forward and back. i rolls fine but have heard in the last week multiple pops and i look down it looks fine. i moved it over just now and saw the 1" cracks. chair doesnt notice it yet. the other one is fine buy my son uses it he weighs 60lbs i would suggest if you are a larger person find something thicker or maybe those glass ones for $$$ this one flexes pretty hard with me at the 5 chair points. so i dont think will last a year for me but a kid probably last a very long time.

It feels sturdy but it is not for medium pile carpet as advertised. It slides around the carpet.
I like this mat for how sturdy it feels, but I really hate that it is not truly made for medium-pile carpet as it is advertised. This mat does not have longer spikes to keep it on the carpet. After getting in and out of my chair several times over a few days this mat slid across my carpet over a foot from where it was supposed to be. It surprised me how much it just slides right across the carpet like it has no spikes at all. That is why I took one star away because it is frustrating to have to readjust the mat every few days.

Lasted 14 months
Update: 5/17/22 I contacted the seller, and after sending pictures and answering questions about the use, location, etc., they wrote me back and noted that I had placed the wheels of under desk file cabinets on the mat, which I should not have done. Also, the carpet's thickness was a little too thick for this mat, and I should have ordered the mat for a plush carpet. However, they would replace it for no charge. Which they did, and it arrived today.I consider the carpet a low profile, but it must have contributed to the cracking, etc.The Company responded quickly to my emails. They took the time to review in detail my pictures etc. And they sent a new mat even though I was past the warranty limit. A high 5 for good customer service and standing behind the products they sell. Thus, I am raising my rating to a 4 and suggesting to all who buy a mat for carpet thicker than glue down to buy the plush carpet mat. It is only a few dollars more, and I suspect it will last. If this one fails, that is my plan. And I will be buying it from these folks. For the first 12 months, it worked fine. The mat is on wall-to-wall low pile carpet on a standard rather thin carpet pad. I use a 5-wheeled office chair. It is at my desk and is used a good part of each day. About the 12th month, I heard a crack and looked down to see a small crack under one of the front wheels. It is now April, just about 14 months since the purchase, and there are numerous cracks with the first one that I heard and then saw, about 8 inches long with a small chunk broken out. The chair pad is fast becoming unusable.I am very disappointed to have a $100 pad breaking up in less than 15 months. It was installed as directed. Used as expected for an office pad. If you are looking for a chair pad that will last for longer than a year with daily use, this may not be the appropriate choice.

Firm but cracks
Purchased in Feb of 2022 and it cracked in the center on Jan 2023. It probably is too thick/stiff and so it cracked. A thinner mat from Staples lasted a little long but was hard to use because the chair wheels tended to sink a little too much. I'm not extremely disappointed, but I was hoping for more than 1 year before the inevitable crack.

One concern: mat does not stay in place
I have had this chair mat for two weeks and can attest to the fact that it is sturdy and well made (although not 1/2 inch thick as described in the Amazon ad - more like 1/4 inch thick). I bought the 53" wide higher end unit so that it would fit between the two legs of my table/desk rather that go underneath them. There is one con although there is a "flip side" to that con. The mat does not stay in place and needs to be adjusted daily because it will shift 6"-8" during the day as I slide my chair around - always moves in the same direction. (My study has a medium height pile carpet which is advisable for this mat.) I think this shifting is due to the fact that the "prongs" on the underside of the mat are not sharp but rather rectangular in shape. The "flip side" of this complaint is that it is very easy to reposition the mat to its desired location and one person can easily handle it without the prongs hurting your hand OR the mat adhering to the carpet so much that it is hard to disengage it. I suspect it is more gentle on the carpet than the sharper type of prongs. All in all - a good product with that one frustration.

Durable
It actually is better than the PVC one I had. So far, after 1 year, it's holding up to my 260lbs

This mat is not very thick.
I like the size of this chair mat. My chair rolls over it easily (so far). The mat I replaced was thicker and sturdier. This new mat will probably not hold up as long. The chair rollers may create dimples where they rest when I am in position at my computer.

Worked great for a month
This worked great until it cracked under one of my chair wheels. It felt thick and durable enough for daily use but couldn't stand up to my heavy chair. For what it is I don't understand why it costs so much.

Sturdy
Sturdy. Not as thick as I had thought but still good. The spikes are shorter so it can shift on a low pile carpet like a Berber.

Protection
