Hi there. Is that a 2 way dummy dimmer as it says in the description or an intermediate switch as in the picture?

This item is NOT an intermediate switch, so the current image is incorrect. This module is only suitable for 1 or 2 way, so we will make sure the correct image is displayed by Amazon.

How many watts can it support?

Well, THEORETICALLY, it's rated at 6 Amps and the voltage in the mains is roughly 240 V, so that makes just over 1400 Watts. I'd be very cautious though and not test it to that extent. I expect someone else will be able to tell you (and me!) why this could be wrong. It may well be down to the resistive load that you have but I don't know. Personally I only have it on a 100 W circuit and that feels safe to me. Good luck!

We have a varilight vpro 4-gang dimmer from the ultraflat range in brushed chrome. is this suitable to swap out one module for use with led strip?

It is possible to fit this into an existing dimmer plate, as an on-off only switch module. Please ensure that the in-rush current of the strip lighting driver, does not exceed this modules max-current rating of 6 amps.

I have a dimmer unit with 4 dimmers on it, one has failed can I use this product as replacement?

I use this with 6 spots in the ceiling and works great
