I am well please my grandmother actually plays with this. I was a skeptic but it’s one thing she actually keeps on her table and looks at often! Well pleased with it.

Lots of activities
I bought 2 different ones for variety. Spouse has dementia and needs to be busy. Even if he’s not doing any of the activities, he likes to carry his “books” around with him.

great activity blanket for preschoolers
I don't know how this blanket would work for someone with demetia, but it's absolutely wonderful for toddlers or preschoolers! There's different colors to learn, different textures to explore and different things to do to sharpen fine motor skills. This blanket is portable and could be used virtually anywhere for some quiet activities. We keep ours in the car for the kids to play with on long car rides. This blanket is very good quality (nothing that can detach and pose a choking hazard), and should last a long time.We love it!

Really for significantly affected.
Fidget Blanket for Elderly with Dementia, Alzheimers Activities for Adults, Sensory Mat Toy Product for Seniors, Memory Loss Therapy Pad, Dementia Aid Gift (24 * 12 Inch). This fidget blanket is quite full on it's face. It is full of little things (buttons, threads, gems, fabrics, etc.), for someone to play with. It is designed more for the significantly affected to use. I put this on my mother who is moderately senile and she was offended. I do not recommend this item.

Varied sensory inputs for autistic users
I got this Fidget Blanket to review for autistic teens/adults, since the listing suggests they are potential users of the product. First of all, let me say that I think this is a very good product for dementia patients. It is colorful, with varied tasks and lots of sensory options as well as some cognitive ones. For Dementia Patients -- five stars without contest. The blanket is well sewn. All the seams are tight and I saw no long dangling strings. Now, before I go into a discussion about using this with autists, let me qualify. I hand made one of the animal twiddle muffs for an autistic child when they first appeared several years ago. The recipient loved it. He still loves it. So asked him to help me evaluate this one for autistic use.Overall first impressions:The blanket was a bit overwhelming the first time both he and I saw it in person. It is very busy and has lots of color. Maybe limiting it to two colors, like blue and white or tan and cream, would help with the overwhelming aspect of it. It looked very, very busy, but once he started touching things my helper appreciated it much more. The blanket contains seventeen activities plus a plush background. I thought I'd discuss it activity by activity.1. Velcro. Tightly sewn, nice color. The noise will annoy those with audio sensitivity, but they will probably try it once and ignore it.2. Belt with buckle. The rainbow colored ribbon is nylon and slick to the feel. However, the buckle can easily be removed and misplaced. It would be nice if the buckle were attached somehow, maybe on a second short strap attached to the backing. See photo with buckle unattached.3. Poufy pink microfiber: No comment. The reaction to this was neither positive nor negative. I wasn't sure I liked the dry feel of it, but it's not for me.4. and 5. Zippers. These zippers are easy to pull back and forth and give a nice but slight resistance for sensory input. They're attached solidly. I like these.6. Beads on a string. These were a bit hit and one of the first things he noticed. But they were also a favorite on the twiddle muff dog I made for him.7. Spring rings on a string. I liked the way these moved back and forth, and you can stick your finger under them for a little sensory input. I thought these were a great and novel addition.8 and 9. Button velour doors and clear pocket window. Outside of the soft feel of the velour pieces, I'm not sure how an autistic person would use the buttoned clear pocket. The vinyl pocket does feel cool to the touch, which is nice.10. Braided string. This is soft under the fingers, but could easily become unbraided never to be braided again. Picking at it continuously will unbraid it relatively quickly. It needs a bit of glue at the end unless rebraiding the string is the goal.11. Furry fabric. Big hit. Soft, fluffy, nice to touch.12. Yellow strap with buckle clip. The bottom part of this strap isn't attached to anything, and can easily be unthreaded. Then if the buckle is unbuckled a part is easily lost. See photo with buckle clip detached.13. Red buckle with velcro. While I really like this idea the same concept stands as before. Undo both velcro straps and the buckle will be gone. See photo with buckle detached from velcro.14. Love sequins. These are changeable sequins that reverse color. At the beginning they were very stiff but as I played with them they got looser. If this is purchased for an autistic person who loves these, it may require some moving the sequins back and forth before it's ready for them to use.15. Clip with bell. My autistic helper could not see the reason for a bell on a sensory blanket. On the other hand, I thought it was a good addition for younger users. My only concern is that with a little effort the bell can be unclipped from its holding ribbon. See photo of unclipped bell.16. Badge holder. I think this is a good option for one or two PECS-style communication cards, even though as a sensory item it seems a bit odd. With effort it can be unclipped from its metal clip, although the clip itself is very securely attached to its holding ribbon. See photo of unclipped badge.17. Tassel. Securely attached and silky, we both loved this.Back: The back is textured and velour. My helper admitted that he would probably turn the entire thing upside down and play with the velour backing. This is actually a plus, because it gives autists one more way to interact with the blanket.Overall I think this is a nicely done and well thought out sensory pad. Before giving it to an autistic user, especially a child, I would address some of the concerns above with a sewing machine or some glue. Otherwise I feel like I'd be spending a lot of time looking for lost buckles and clips. I feel that I can recommend this easily with 4 stars.
