Great throttle - bought the joystick now as well ... WOOHOO!
Brilliant! So many configurable everythings I ran out of things to put on them in ARMA I absolutely LOVE the paddle on the front - feels great and no adjustments necessary. "it's not a cyclic" ... "it shouldn't be flat" ... "it feels wrong and strange" shouted the reviews and customers ... You know what? It doesn't matter. Modern aircraft use straight tracked throttles as well. The software is a little over-the-top, as having the capability to script one button press to automatically fire the missiles, change targets, drop the bombs, switch back targets and thenshoot more missiles is a little silly and unnecessary. Also, it's a pus** move!

Another fantastic product in the budget price range from thrustmaster
Another fantastic product in the budget price range from thrustmaster. The buttons are mostly solid with exception of 3 rubber dome buttons that are a let down but acceptable. The analouge joystick proves to be a reliable input method particularly in space sims however I must complain about its placement. I would much rather prefer if the ministick was placed on the thumb a bit like CH pro throttle (which I own). Furthermore the dial has a lot of resistance which was uncomfortable to use with pinkie but hopefully it is moddable and already after use I see the resistance settling down. As for the precision of the axis; it is incredible, thrustmaster doesn't compromise when it comes to quality electronics and I believe the z axis has 15 bit resolution (that is 32768 data points). All the other axis are 10 bit which is more than enough. The T.A.R.G.E.T software is very sophisticated and although a little unintuitive at first it can be very powerful in the hands of someone willing to write their own code. One cool possibility is to use the ministick as a hat switch if the game doesn't support analouge values yet you need extra buttons.

Great value
I honestly did not expect much from this throttle. However I've been really pleasantly impressed with it for both DCS and Xplane11. I've used it on both PC and MAC both without trouble. I haven't needed the Thrustmaster T.A.R.G.E.T. software at all but it's good to know you can extend the capability with that. I was looking to Pay a LOT more for a higher-end throttle, but I'm glad I went this direction for now.

Nice and large.
Read people complaining about the throttle sticking. If anything I think it moves too freely when screwed in, but I'm very heavy handed. I also have "bear paws" for hands and the large handle fits me lovely. Smaller hands may struggle to use the yaw paddle. Enjoying using it for elite dangerous.

Ok for the price, would be better if it wasnt faulty.
Item has plenty of buttons/axis to assign functions to.Quite ergonomic as well.Grip feels hollow ,plasticky and the movement of the throttle is without a realistc feeling (such as the x52pro and x56).For the money and if you get a working item, its ok. The analog stick produced a fault,x axis was jittery and movement didn't stop with releasing the button.I guess I was unlucky and got a bad piece of equipment.Amazon was willing to send a replacement but since item wasn't available for my country any more, they issued a refund. Got a Saitek X52pro and I must say,if you exclude the number of functions, has a real throttle feeling,by far!

Works great and as expected
Used this product for a jet engine simulation project in c#. I used SharpDX drivers with a little configuration and it works just fine. It's a bit bigger than what I imagined but that's good. Its very smooth and works great. I only really needed the throttle stick. It's a shame there isn't a cheaper version with just the throttle and a few buttons

Good for the price, has slight downfalls you need to consider.
Got this alongside a thrustmaster t16000m joystick in order to play Elite Dangerous and so far I haven't had any real issues. Only thing I've found to be a bit annoying is that sliding the throttle can be a bit stiff, although that seems to be getting better with time. Also worth mentioning is that the throttle itself is surprisingly big and my hands aren't the biggest so there's a bit of maneuvering required to get to all the buttons and especially the paddles, but I don't consider it that big an issue. Just something to be mindful of.

Throttle: Lots of control, a bit sticky
I bought the throttle alone to compliment my old ForceFeedback 2 joystick for playing Elite Dangerous. There's just not enough buttons on a joystick alone. There are loads of buttons on this thing, to the point that you might need to write down what you've assigned them to. Along with the ability to "shift" in many games, it gets quite endless. The main axis is the throttle, this is buttery smooth for the first week and then gets stiff and jittery. I've just added some silicone spray to it to see if that helps (but I think I might need something thicker), but it's troublesome enough to make minor adjustments (such as landing in Elite) very troublesome. It's nowhere near as slick as my joystick's built in throttle. This is the main reason for losing stars in my rating; along with the base doesn't appear to be perfectly flat, so I have a wobble on mine (probably resolvable with a thick piece of paper). In terms of build quality, these are the only two (albeit significant enough) issues. The unit is built of good quality plastic and you don't feel like anything is going to break in use. On the right hand side there are four sets of controls. A simple push button, two four-way switches, and an 8-way HAT. They all have a different shape, so you can easily identify which button your thumb is on by feel (if only car manufacturers could figure this one out!). On the back is another axis, which is a rocker style. If you let go it will auto-centre. I haven't made use of this as I still use the twist on my joystick for rudder control. It seems to takes the role of the additional pedals that you can add. There is also a mini joystick on the back. This can be operated with your index finger and allows for full analogue control in all directions. I use this for thrusters in Elite - although if you're wanting to carefully go in one direction, it can be a bit tricky as it is analogue, so you have to be sure to push that one direction and not slightly in others too! There are two simple push buttons and a two-way switch. The two way you can push up or down, it is still a simple push switch as rocker returns to centre. I use this in Elite to either low or hike wake. More interestingly there is a dial axis on the left hand side that you can operate easily with your little finger. It feels like a radio tuning dial. In Elite I'm using this for radar zoom level and also for tuning the spectral analyser in discovery mode for system scanning in 3.3. In terms of controls, this item is excellent. It gives you a vast array of flexibility in games. It is let down by its raison d'รชtre: the throttle becomes sticky after a few uses and becomes tricky to use. **UPDATE** I bought this in September 2018 and just over two years later at the start of 2021 I have noticed it's beginning to fail. The main throttle bounces at 100% meaning it's hard to get it on 'full power', and likewise the analogue stick is jittering to the left when left alone. I contacted Thrustmaster but as it is out of the 2 year warranty they won't assist, and they do not supply replacement parts. In terms of usage, I play Elite off an on for no more than 2-4 hours a week. It's hardly been abused or "well used". So ultimately the quality is poor. Unfortunately at this price point there is not many alternatives.
