Yes a band of it top and bottom, but it’s not uncomfortable and helps it stay in place.

I was in similar position and bought smaller size first. They were tight and rolled. I then bought the larger size. They were more comfortable and stayed up well. Rolled a tiny bit but not enough to be a big issue. Small warning though. If you have any allergies, you might find you get a skin rash where the 'adhesive' part sits on your tighs.
