The Cowboy Cookbook For Beginners: 250 Authentic Ranch, Campfire, and Grill Recipes that Would Have Made Billy the Kid's Mouth Water

Cowboy food really appeals to me. They are hearty meals that are meant to be fixed in one pot and meant to feed a crowd. Since I cook for a family of 8 all of these ideas are exactly what I need daily. I also liked that this book is so versatile. You can cook the food outside (grill, open fire, etc.) or you can inside in the oven or stovetop. I also appreciate that they can all be made in a Dutch oven or casserole dish, really whatever big pot or pan you have will work. All of the recipes use easily found ingredients that tend to be less expensive to buy and can be stretched to feed a family. The directions are clear and easy to follow.

There are a lot of recipes in this cookbook that is made in a big pot that can be cooked on an open fire or on your stove. They have step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow. The recipes are cowboy themed and quite delicious. There are soups, casseroles, of course meats and beans, salsa and even desserts. I just can't wait for warmer weather so I can cook outdoors over an open fire. I truly like this cookbook and I think anyone would.

So poorly written it's painful to read. I felt like I was grading a grade school kid's book report The actual recipes have nothing to do with the Cowboy lifestyle. Name one time in history a cowboy made a banana boat during a cattle drive and not got his @$$ kicked.

This book has some great photos, recipes and stories about cowboy living.

The recipes are ok. I am not sure all the recipes are authentic, and the book has a lot of typos.

Whether you decide to cook these meals over an open fire or with your stove you're sure to be pleased with these recipes. I also enjoyed the cowboy history.

Pictures would have been great..suggest the author to proof read before printing this waste of money..not friggin impressed..
